Its brilliant. You can sing as badly as you want and people will still cheer you.

I have done karaoke in the pub, Now I cant sing to save my life, so I waited till I had a few drinks it was a great laugh yeah you deffo have to give it go

It's awesome.
Typically, most of the people who do it have had a few drinks, so they're very entertaining. The worse it sounds the more fun it is.
You just have to let go of your inhabitions and have fun at it, even make a fool out of yourself.
When I was about seven or eight months pregnant with one of my kids, some of my friends and I all went to a restaurant that had kareoke. Everyone who got up there had had at least a couple drinks. Then I got up. It was obvious, of course, that I was the only one singing sober. I had a ball, and they thought it was hilarious. :-)

I have several times. In Hong Kong (in specially equipped booths... at least you have privacy), on a ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn, and in Zilina, Slovakia on a Korean party night.
All cringingly embarassing. I don't mind watching though.

That might be my favorite thing to do. It doesn't matter if you sing bad (it's almost cheating if you don't), and most people do, you just have to look like you're having fun with it. Do some dance steps along with your song.

I've done it once or twice, good fun if you are with friends, not so good fun if you're on you're own. Don't worry about your singing, no-one else cares, in fact, the worse it is the better they like it.

yeah sang the complete american pie(don mcclean) in spain after a few bevvies, then carried on with yellow submarine, with a waiter, i think, even after they turned it off. absolutley brilliant.

you get a screen with words you belt out your songs!
it';s fun and funny some times scarry but if you drink enought it's all fun!
