First off, "God don't do tests" is a cop out. If verifiable evidence existed, believers would be shouting it from the rooftops. Since evidence is lacking, excuses are used instead. Needing the excuse "God don't do tests" speaks volumes.
As for a real test I would start small. I would, in secret write some text on a paper and seal it in an opaque envelope. I then bring it out to the believer who could then pray for God to reveal the contents. The believer could then write down his guess. If the believer does get it right, the test can be duplicated by others and I would be strongly swayed. If, as expected, the believer does not get it right, that leans towards non-existance.
I've yet to see this simple task accomplished in a situation where deception is not used.

I forgot to mention, in the holy books, there are numerous stories showing serious evidence to people. I guess god didn't mind being tested back then. Just now it's a little tough. Maybe he's getting a little old?

I don't ask God to prove His existance but if one did He would do it. I know a man that didn't believe in God for a great many years and just recently God shown him (the man) that He is real and that He is there. So if I were needing to ask for proof I'd probably ask Him something that only He could do. Nothing like move that big rock or anything silly like that. But something that would touch my heart and truly let me know that He was there.

Neither you can ask God directly nor you will hear God giving you answer. You are not see God either. His Greatest Prophet didn't see God either.
God has revealed truth about Himself in Divine Revelations. You need to read those if you want to know whether God exists. There are learned people in every religion to teach you about God if you ask them. First read what I point out to you below. If you have questions then you can ask me for the answers. If I don't have answers I shall point you to the scholars.

The bible says not to put God to the test.
The bible says that all God has created proves to us that He exists.
2 Cor 10:3-5 casting down every thought and imagination, every theory and reasoning, that exalts itself against the true knowledge of God.

Do what an all-loving, all powerful, all knowing creator should be able AND have the desire to do; tell everyone "his" message in a way that each person will fully understand and be unable to deny. Everyone should be able to say "Yes, this is what this God fellow told me". This in no way violates free will, it simply makes that will fully informed.
This is, by the way, necessarily what would happen if such a being actually existed, by the definitions of all loving, all powerful, etc.

I new he was there .....May 28 2005 I got a sign from god when he told my wife to leave me......and she did..thank the lord...my life has gotten better with each new day.....as the Baptists would say..... I've been saved......wish he had of done it 35 years ago

I already have. I asked Him to come into my heart and change me from the inside out. He is true to His Word and has done just that. I don't need any more proof than the changes He has made in me

I would request nothing. Its not gonna happen, and it would be presumptuous of me to ask. Whoever "God" is, is WAY beyond my feeble understanding.
