grow up chickeepoo you cannot change global warming. it is cyclical, and it is more powerful than you are. just accept the fact that you do not have the power to change the world. just go home and find a man and submit to him, because he is more powerful than you

Beam - I couldn't find the press release supposedly citing the IPCC (according to the blog) anywhere. What I did find was the final report on the conference.

http://www.esf.org/fileadmin/be_user/activities/research_conferences/Docs_NEW/2007/2007-242_Final_Report.pdf

It doesn't mention the IPCC at all.

It looks to me like the blog got it wrong. Which isn't surprising:

"The drafting of reports by the world’s pre-eminent group of climate scientists is an odd process. For many months scientists contributing to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change tussle over the evidence. Nothing gets published unless it achieves consensus. This means that the panel’s reports are extremely conservative – even timid. It also means that they are as trustworthy as a scientific document can be."

George Monbiot

Scientists do trust the science behind global warming:

To answer the original question; People disbelieve for a variety of reasons, mostly political. This book will show you how to help fix that:

"Stop Global Warming:
The Solution is You – An Activists Guide"

by Laurie David.

Should be available in any bookstore.

The key word here is "believe". Not "think" or "reason" or "question". Just "believe". It's getting to sound more and more like a religion, doesn't it? How long will it be before some radical warmist ignites himself in a crowded SUV dealership?

I think that most people believe, those who don't, I guess it's just easier for them to think that every thing is OK, and that they don't have to do anything.

Rather than drink the Kool-Aid, I would rather learn the truth. You seem more interested in belonging to a group than learning anything IMO.

If the scientists who review the process don't have faith in it, how can you?

Oops, I think this link is more to the point of my previous post.

-edit-
Here is one more scientist and IPCC reviewer,Steve McIntyre, that has had problems getting the data used in the IPCC process to verify the results.
