No, it is not normal for a tooth to bleed. He/she may have bumped it or cut the area slightly. Are the gums puffy or red, do you notice a build up of plaque in that area? Does he/she brush the area regularly?
If there is no pain watch the area. If you notice they complain while eating or drinking or if the tooth starts to change in color contact your dentist asap.

Is it a front tooth? Because if it is, that tooth could be starting to come loose. I know the average age for losing a first tooth is six years old but children as young as four can start to lose them. My older daughter lost her first tooth when she was five years old and had no baby teeth left by the time she was ten and a half.

I think you must mean the gum around the tooth huh? No that's not normal. Either she bumped the tooth or cut the gum on something. In any case, don't sweat it unless she complains of pain, but have them check it at her next dental apt. [you are taking her to the dentist aren't you?]. I used her, but it could be a he....and probably is!!

THERESA,
YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT THE TEETH THEMSELVES NEVER BLEED, BUT WHAT CAN BLEED IS THE GUM AROUND THEM. WAIT A FEW DAYS TO SEE IF THIS IMPROVES. HAVE THIS MENTIONED TO THE DENTIST AT THE NEXT CHECKUP.
