Can someone tell me more about internships? I have an interview for a graphic design internship coming up it is what I am in school for. I do not know what to expect at all so I am a little nervous.

But also I was wondering how often do companies KEEP their interns and hire them to work there? I just am not very familiar with internships so I would appreciate any information. Thanks!

First of all congratulations! The internship will pretty much show you what you would be doing if you actually worked there. However, they will also likely have you do general office work that no one else has time to do.
Hiring the interns depends on a few things, first if they have the need. If they don't have an open position after the internship then they won't hire you. Also, if you are only a junior now, they probably won't look to hire you until after you graduate. If you are a good intern and they are happy with the job you do then you can apply for a job after graduation and even if you don't get hired you'll have business contacts and references.
As long as you do what they ask and put your all into it, they will be happy with the work you do. Ask a lot of questions, not just about the job, put how your boss got to their position, etc. It is a great learning experience!

If a company has an opening for an entry-level person, it's not at all unusual for them to make an offer to an intern who has done a good job. But even if they don't have, you then have some practical experience in your field to put on your resume.
