Here's a serious answer for you.
Realize that you are not useless, you are here for a reason; and if you are still here, you haven't done what you were put here to do yet, (if you can follow that).
Next, start setting daily goals for yourself. (It works, I am currently in week 2 of my "ending my depression without a lot of outside help project). 1 goal per day for the 1st week, 2 goals per day for the 2nd week, etc.
It gets easier after the first week and don't be too hard on yourself. My #1 goal everyday is simply trying to keep my mood swings under control.
Affirmations are great to. I tell myself everyday that I am worth it; I'm beginning to believe it.
And even if it means putting the rest of the world on hold for a while; do something (other than the above mentioned) for yourself.
Others are going to urge you toward "God", if this doesn't fall into your belief system; try believing in yourself.

Try doing some volunteer work--get out of yourself. Schools can usually use volunteers as mentors. Or if you have a hobby that might interest those that are in nursing homes. My husband has a cousin that goes to the nursing home and helps those interested in making little things for their rooms. Or that might be some that would like someone to read to them. Especially if they use to like to read but can't due to poor eye sight.
There are so many other things that can be done--it may seem trivial to you but it isn't to the other person. Maybe a young stay at home mother--that has a couple kids or so--offer to babysit while she goes out too lunch with a friend. Or maybe find someone to babysit and you take her out to lunch. Or even taking lunch to her house--you & her eating there while the kids are napping. Just so she can have some adult conversation--plus that time there you can help her with the kids. I am sure it gets fustrating when you have a couple small kids going 3 different directions

No-one is useless! Whatever you believe we were all put on the earth for a reason. I suggest you maybe talk to a doctor of how you feel or whisk yourself off to a spa for the day. You are a strong person and you can totally get through depression, and remember the first stage of getting through it is realising you have it!

Get outside more; also spend time around quality friends who can make you happy.
An estimated 19 million American adults are living with major depression. Try Web-MD you'll find in-depth information about depression symptoms, medications, and therapy. Plus, find daily help in their online support groups.
If symptoms worsen or continue perhaps go see a medical professonal.
Best wishes.

Where to begin?
First and foremost pray. I tell God simply "Lord, I'm depressed." I immediately start to feel better. The Lord Jesus Christ came to earth and lived and died on the cross to pay for our sins. He is our comfort and strength. Jn 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life."
One thing is that when we do something in order to evade our depression, we actually deepen it; like when people eat in order to stop feeling depressed; they are actually making it worse. They will want more food to alleviate the depression, find themselves overweight, losing their health because of it, etc.
Jesus is the only true cure because He is the answer to all things. He is our Lord and Savior. We will need more of Him which is great because the more of Him we have in our hearts the better we feel. He is goodness.
Sin, guilt will cause depression. Best thing to do is to live with a clear conscience before God and man; not having bitterness or resentment in our hearts, not having quarrels and strife in our associations, doing right by ourselves and others at all times.
Don't dwell on the negative. Whatever is good, whatever is lovely, whatever is worthy of praise, whatever is noble, whatever is of good report, think on these things, Phil 4:8-9.
What we put our minds on will always directly affect our moods.
We've all made mistakes and we've all failed. Jesus died to pay for our sins; we've all fallen short of the glory of God.
What you need to do is leave the past with God and find out what He wants you to do now and tomorrow.

The best way to feel recovery from depressive feeligns is to go out and do a kind, thoughtful good deed for someone else. It will help you feel better. Keep doing that daily and you will soon get much better.

Remember this my friend. When you have a problem and you tell someone about it, 95% of the people you tell dont really care you have a problem and the rest 5% are happy you have that problem. I would find a way to fix it my self. Total self control, once you master that, you are a master of your own self.

Paxil cured my depression, Effexor cured my wife's, and Prozac cured my brother's. Sometimes when a person is depressed, their brain isn't functioning properly. I would suggest seeing your family doctor who can recommend a psychiatrist.

I am also depressed but life has to go on. I turn to God, I am a Muslim and I have to pray 5 times a day. He is the only one who truly loves us, He is the Most Gracious, Most loving and Most Merciful. Turn to God, with his love, you will feel there is more to life. Life is just a test, take it as a challenge, with God's mercy, you will be the winner soon.
