Have a check-up at the vet. It can be as simple as a diet problem, or it can be a medical problem like a thyroid condition.

My first thought is that you're feeding her cheap crap from the grocery store. Any dog food you can buy at the grocery store is not good for your dog! They are full of cheap filler ingredients, sugar, by-products, and even toxic preservatives and artificial colorings. Try looking for a food that lists a specified meat meal as the first ingredient (chicken meal, lamb meal, etc). If it isn't the first ingredient, a specified meat meal should be second after a specified meat. Foods that list "real meat" as the first ingredient looks good...but ingredients are listed according to their weight or volume before processing. Since meat is mostly water, most of that weight is lost during processing and there ends up being more of the second, third, or even fourth ingredient than the first one. You also need to look for a food with no more than two grains in the first five or six ingredients. Grains like corn, soy, and wheat are common allergens and are often responsible for dull coat and bad odors.
If a diet change to a better quality food doesn't do the trick, then it's time to take a trip to the vet. Skin infections and other medical problems can cause dull coat and foul odors.

showering regularly might be contributing to it. You shouldn't bathe a dog too frequently as it washes away the natural oils produced to keep the coat in good condition.
if your dog smells, you should see a vet, she may have a skin condition of some sort and will probably just be prescribed an anitiseptic shampoo or lotion and possibly tablets.

I'd consider changing the diet. My dogs get fed raw and have a shiny coat and even after a year without a bath dont smell. Keep the dog brushed and dont bathe too often because that will dry the skin out.

you are probably bathing her too often and not giving her coats natural oils a chance. Rather that keep bathing her to get rid of the doggy odour wipe her over once a week with a wet towel that has been soaked in diluted dog shampoo, dry her up, and spray on one of the specialist doggycolognes http://www.petcetera.co.uk/acatalog/COLOGNES.html
Try giving her some evening primose oil or a specialist coat feed.

You can wash a dog too often. They don't need it.
Towel her off when she gets wet on a walk. Make sure you feed her decent food - Wagg dried food and add water.
Not being funny, but she's a DOG and dogs smell of dog.

Sounds like your pup may have some type of skin allergy. What type of shampoo do you use? Try using a shampoo with oatmeal and conditioners in it. It may help with the allergy and will also condition her coat. Good luck

It could be that you are washing her too often?
There is a supplement that you can add to her food to improve the quality of her coat.
You can find something at like Petco or Petsmart or online.

A small spoonful of cod liver oil in her food each day, gave my dog (short haired staff) a loverly glossy coat.
I only washed mine whenever it rolled in **** as dogs are wont to do .. about once a year perhaps.
