Just eat healthy foods that taste good and mix it up. I know I get bored with eating the same old stuff all the time.

Also, do an exercise that's fun or take a class or even better, join some kind of sports team.

and drink lots of water.

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

easy and weight loss do not go together. you have to change your entire life style and you have to make it a permanent change. No junk food, maintain 1200 calories max a day of good nourishing foods, maintain 30 minutes of continuous activity every single day (no weekends off). When you reach your goal weight, you must maintain it by going to 1400 calories daily and continued activity. None of this is easy, but it will extend your life by as much as ten years. So get easy out of your mind, it doesn't exist.

I have always been told: eat less, exercise more. Try a piece of fruit instead of a cookie and try walking more than usual and that might help.
