Whenever you move a copy of Windows XP to a different computer, you will have activation issues. It can register on the PC, but not on the MS site because the number is already registered there to the old PC.

There is a number listed in the activation where you can call MS to activate by phone. Use that number and explain to them that you are moving the software to a new PC. They will be able to clear it so that it will work on the new PC. However, it will no longer work on the OLD PC after MS gets done.

Well for one that disk that came with your desktop is only ment for your desktop and the key is already activated, also getting activation you going to have to call microsoft and come up with a little white lie which I suggest not or buy a copy of windows xp
