In reality nothing all though some may argue the confectioners sugar is slightly finer.

they seem like the same thing, i bake a lot, and haven't found any difference in it, i think that the actual term for it is confectioners sugar, but a lot of people just call it powdered because it's so powdery.

Yes there is a difference. powder sager is powder. the other sugar is sugar lumps.
