Having childrens doesnt' make one more or less intelligent. there was a study on this years ago
but teaching childrien will degrade ones communication level because the adult will lower their vocab and the trail of thought to the childs level in order to communicate with them. long term under those conditions most will loose some "intelligence"

If you're a teen mother, it can make you a bit less intelligent school-wise. Especially if you drop out. Yet you gain intelligence as a parent.

Definitely not!
Whatever gave you the idea?
Without children the human race will cease - and, unless you are extremely selfish, who would want that?
Having children certainly makes one think which must be the basis of intelligence!

You mean like Mark Twain's observation? He said when he was a teenager, he was astounded that anyone could be as stupid as his old man and live! But just a few years later when he was married and had a daughter of his own, he was amazed at how much the old man had learned!

Actually, yes it does.
Here comes the thumbs down - but I AM a parent and I read a study two years ago that said both parents lose some IQ points and the stay at home parent usually loses twice what the bread winner does. I think the IQ points in the study was 5 and 10 points lost.

Asking this question, you probably shouldnt have children. This is the most uninteligent question I have seen on Y.A. and if you are asking it, you dont have the skills to raise a child.

No, but sometimes you feel that way. All of your effort goes into taking care of your kids so sometimes I forget the little things about myself, like walking out of the house without my shoes even though I had my daughter dressed perfectly and her diaper bag packed with clothes for any occasion.
