I have never hired anyone to do any painting for me, I've always done the painting myself.

If I were to paint someone's room, I would like to be paid $20, of course, check around. The price of the job would also be influenced by prepping and moving furniture if you do not want to do that before the painters arrive for the job.

It really depends on where you are but here in Texas the going rate is about $200-$400 a room & extra for any specialty jobs. Its really not by the hour its really by the job. So if you were to just paint a 3 Bedroom 2 Bathroom house just solid colors nothing special, it would probably be about $1500-$2000....I hope this helps! Good Luck :)

They are paid by the job.

The builder / customer wants price certainty so they only want to pay for the job and therefore know what they are going to pay.
