Good ? brother, sadly the vast majority of modern Christians solely relie on their actions, and actions are a huge witness, but we cant leave it at that, its not enough. You see by most of your answers that most Christians will not give the gospel unless their asked, look at The Master and the Apostles brother, did they ever wait to be asked? Christians need to realize that were to be in the offensive mode, not just sitting back and hoping that somebody notices that we don't swear or that we dress so conservatively.

How are we to preach the gospel to every creature if we just sit back and wait on them, especially when The Bible tells us "there's none that seeks after God". The problem is this generation of believers don't understand what their here for. Yes, always be diligent to show a good testimony, but there comes a time to open your mouth and declare the word of The Lord. Always look for an opening to speak and The Spirit will provide it.

okay, I'm really new at this, but my thinking is that eventually someone is going to ask "what happened to you" and that's when you can simply tell them you found Jesus Christ and leave it at that.

Because if you have the "sorted" past I do , there isn't anything I can say that will make anyone believe I've changed. So my actions have to speak for me. And it's a long process too. There will be people who will be skeptical forever, and I can't say I blame them either.

I used to be in a bad, nasty space for along time. And change doesn't come overnight.

By living a godly life. If you life your life the way Jesus calls you to live it, others will see Him in you and try to find out why you have all this joy and peace in the midst of all this tribulation in the current world (not to be confused with The Tribulation to come). Remember, Jesus said "You WILL be My witnesses..." If you don't tell the gospel (which you should do since you're called by Him to do so), you still will be a witness to Him through your life and actions. Note that this may be a poor witness if you're not living like you should, but either way you will be a witness. Make sure that when others witness you they see Jesus in you.

If we rely on our actions alone we error. Being a living witness is not a witness at all if not couples with the Gospel of Christ.

But for our actions, a lot of people think that they do well when they do not. A lot of people think that abstaining from sin and criticizing people for not abstaining from sin is doing well. These are the people who ask what would Jesus do instead of looking at what Jesus did do.

In the end they drive people away instead of drawing them to the Lord. We need to lay heavily on the two great commandments.

How did you get "speak not a word" out of "actions speak LOUDER than words"?

It's obvious your missing the point of this common phrase. The phrase isn't meant to tell us that we shouldn't ever speak about something but rather it's a phrase that reminds us that the actions we take can usually be heard much more than anything we may speak.
Why do you think people say "talk is cheap"?

I imagine if a Christian wanted to prove their faith in Jesus, they would apply the ONE commandment he said ruled supreme over all others and fulfilled the ENTIRE law:

"Love God with your whole heart soul mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself."

Sadly many Christians do not, will not or cannot do this so they need all the other trappings to show off just how "Christian" they are, which is counterproductive in telling anyone anything about Christ.

The Bible says that You'll know a tree by It's fruit.
Faith without works Is dead.
Sometimes the only Bible people read Is watching your life,It will speak louder than words.

Visiting those in the hospital and nursing homes. Doing kind deeds for someone without being asked. Sending a card just to say you care.

Yes by showing our fruits of the Spirit...Jesus said "You will know them by their fruits" -- speaking about how a good tree does not produce bad fruit where as a bad tree does not produce good fruit...
And the Fruits of the Spirit are described in Galatians 5.
But this does not dismiss the fact we are to go out and share the gospel as well-- For God commands us to do this! To be fishers of men!

i was in line at a check out and the Lady behind me had
had a cup. i turned around and paid for it . her mouth
dropped open.
i have done that sort of thing all my life. i help anywhere anytime. not just with money.
i have picked up trash at parks. i helped hitch-hikers and
the homeless. i took care of both of the people that abused
me. i have helped carry stuff.
my list is longer but you get the picture. that is what our
lives are about and NOT about the me's!
