Practice helps, but here's a couple of tips that helps you stay in your lane & with defensive driving.: Look as far ahead as possible. You see that the lane markers seem to merge into a point. Follow that point. Also, if you have a hood decoration, handle, or some curve or marker on the hood, have that marker on the right lane line. It should help. Good luck!!

First, Make sure your car has been aligned before you begin driving. This was a big problem for me when I started driving. Second, make sure the tires are in good condition as well. Once they are checked out, you can focus on your skills. I remember when I started driving...I freaked out all the time. I would not even turn the radio on for fear that it would break my concentration. It takes lots of practice to develop your coordination skills when it comes to driving. It always helped me to peek at the lines on the right side of the road every once in a while. When you feel yourself going over too far, just gently bring it back in place. You will get it! Just keep practicing!

Relax your muscles. If you are tense/nervous you cant handle the car as easily as you would if you were comfortable. Pay attention to the lane and learn to move with it not just try to stay on it. You will get the hang of it... just keep practicing. The more comfortable you are behind the wheel... the better you will drive. Good luck hun.

I think one of the things, apart from loosening up and not being too tense, is to focus on the street ahead of you. Many people focus on the front of the car and since you are not paying attention to the road, you will sway to the other lanes. Just remember to be calm and keep practicing.

Pay attention to what you are doing. Also, focus on the center line==making sure you stay to the right of it. As long as you are on the right side of the center line you should be o.k.. It's good that you are asking for help. Driving can be a dangerous thing if you don't do it right. Good luck! and if you don't get the help you need here, then please check with a driving school for additional help.

It is easy when you are not distracted. Just make driving your #1 priority when you are behind the wheel.

i look at the left corner of the front end of my car and make sure the lines are lined up to that according to my vision. of course, you don't stare at it, that could cause problems. (that is assuming that you are in the US.
