Everyone has spies, including the Irish.

As a Celtic person myself, [Welsh], I never under estimate the capabilities of the Irish in any activity, be it spying or business.

Just because the Irish are thought not to be a spying nation, is probably about the best cover a spy could possibly have.

When people around the world think of spies, they almost always are going to think of 007 or the CIA or the KGB and it's modern equivalent. They're not going to think of Ireland.

My guess is that the Irish have been quietly beavering away [mole like] for generations. They probably are already in charge of the Flying Squad and most of Mi6.

Who knows? Anyone!

Well first of all the Irish Intelligence Service require their personnel to be proficient in the use of a dictionary, they hate ignorance, and bad grammar.

Original question posted by asker:

I know we have an Intelligence Department, but, do they do anything, other than allow other Governments tell them what has happened, and write a report based on their (the other Governments report.)
Or, do they actually get involved more, by using spies and informants and that sort of thing, in other countries."

End of original question posted by asker.

There now, if, written like that, you wont look too dumb.!

1. Yes.

2. Yes, they do their own work, as you cant trust anybody outside of your own organization. They also compile their own reports.

With regards what they do in other countries that's classified, and if we told you we would have to remove you with extreme prejudice!!

The Irish Intelligence Service were so good in W.W.2 that no German spy, dropped into Ireland by parachute or landed by ship. managed to stay at large for longer than 5 days.

Every country spies on every other country. That is a fact. I do know this to be true. I cannot say how I know, but it is true.

as the republic or Ireland is classed as a neutral nation it is however part of the UN and takes part in peacekeeping in conflict zones. the Irish special forces(the army ranger wing) as part of intelligence gathering would use covert ops surveillance, and tactical bribery. since the split the irish military have always had operatives in the north of ireland, as they had a foreign army right on their doorstep. standard practice for any military i guess

the final public of folk contained in the city call it Derry. the final public of the human beings contained in the NW call it Derry. The nam of the county is County Londonderry - in the previous that it change into County Coleraine - so it really is incorrect to call it Co Derry. The call of the city is formally Londonderry, yet as I say - the final public in that city call it Derry. The professional call of Castleblayney is in simple terms that yet locals call it 'blayney. Carrickferus is continually referred to as Carrick.
