I answered this one a couple of weeks ago. As to WHY people pretend he's white, well duh, white people would have to admit they're not superior if the dude they worshiped were brown!

Common sense says Jesus was middle eastern asian. He was born in Jerusalem. If some stupid people can't figure out where Jerusalem is on a map, then that is soooooo freaking sad!
I once asked my 5th grade class where Jesus was from and some said Rome, Italy, and America. Not one guessed the middle east or africa.
** I want to add a comment to the guy who said that Jesus is a fairytale. There is HISTORICAL evidence that Jesus existed. Even historians know Jesus was a real person. The question to some is if he is a Messiah or the son of God.

We could all learn much from a box of crayons.
Their all a different color.
Some are sharp,some are dull.
Some are short,some are long.
But they have all learned to get along in one box,and make this old world a little brighter.

Added Comment: Jesus was more Likely a Syrian if your looking at Him in an earthly sense.

"And thou shalt speak and say before the Lord thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous:" Deuteronomy 26:5

No, everybody doesn't "know" that Jesus was black. That wouldn't even be logical. Jesus was a Palestinian Jew. He was probably olive-skinned with dark hair, as were most of the people of his race. He was a descendant of Shem, not a descendant of Ham.

Sorry, but He wasn't an African. As I was telling a friend the other day, Jesus looked more like Adam Sandler than Fabio. It's a fact.

Jesus was Jewish. He would have looked like Jews and Arabs whose families come from the Middle East; in other words, dark hair, swarthy skin, and eyes that could have been brown, black or blue.

EDIT TO BEHONEST

Jesus was not 'Arabic'. He was Jewish.

I am a Jehovah's Witness and I am a White Male. Most scholars in the fields of history and biblical studies agree that Jesus was a Galilean Jew.

Jehovah sent his only begotten Son Jesus to die for us. John 3:16

Satan is the one that wants us to focus on the color of skin. We know God is LOVE and we know that God is not prejudice !!!

We are the human race. We were all created by Jehovah God and we all descended from Adam and Eve.

Rev 4:11 “You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created.”

I don't believe Jesus was white, that is just how most of the artists have chosen to depict throughout history. I don't think He was as handsome as they protray Him either (Is 53). But, Jesus wasn't African, He was Arabic.
