I read alot about how people think Christanity is fake or over the top, I am in the middle really, so wondering if there are ex Christians out there, and if so what are your reason for no longer having faith in your religon?

I do believe in it as I have family who are born again Christians, but there's this other part of me that isn't sure. I did know of a lady who had been baptized and everything, and she seemed to go off in the other direction later on, that is why I am confused really.

I was a Christian who strayed for a few yrs. kinda like you, I had lots of questions and tried new and different stuff, but that's OK you can't give all of yourself to something until you are sure within yourself you really believe it. Yes, I returned to God and haven't regretted it and he hasn't punished me for it.

A big step was realizing (very simply) that consciousness resides in the brain and there is no reason to think that there is anything after death. Also taking an astronomy class and finding out that the reality of how amazing the universe is, is way more inspiring than anything I ever found in religion. It took a good few years for the last remnants of 'faith' to fall away and for me to accept the fact that I've pretty much always been an atheist but couldn't admit it.

I did not become a "Christian" untill I was 52.... 7+yrs ago... I can tell you with absolute certiainty that no True Christian has ever "lost" their status as a True Christian... let-a-lone voluntarily given it up.... That has never happened and never will.... when one KNOWS The Truth... there is nothing that could cause any one to give it up...

there are more who "think" they are Christian than there are those who Truly are... and the World lables far more as Christian than really are... True Christians are a small minority...always have been... and as long as this mortal world exists... always will be.

many who "think" they are Christians fall by the way every day... they have never managed to come to God as God prescribes... so they do not know The Truth... but The Way to God remains open to ALL who will come as God prescribes.... even those who "thought" they were Christians and turned away from The Way... ALL may yet come to God.

I could never believe that the world was made in 6 days. And besides that, religion has no satisfactory answers - when talking to a priest, there comes a moment when all he can say is "god works in misterious ways" - wich means he has no clue. I believe every religion has a bit of truth in it, but no religion on earth has it all

I have been "born again" 17 times now. Currently I am an Atheists but I enjoy the sensation of being born so occasionally I am "born again" just for fun.

i became one when i got into college. i guess i was somewhat of a loner at the time and looking to make friends. it wasn't till i got into this religious discussion with my brothers that i really started questioning christianity. ironically, a few years later one of my brothers became a born a christian after his divorce. luckily, i helped him, just as he helped me once before.

I always believed....according to Scripture.....that you are either saved or you are not saved.

There really is no middle ground here.

If a person claimed saving faith....but then drifted....never to return, they were not saved in the first place

Salvation is eternal....and cannot be broken or lost.

Of course people drift from time to time.......but a true born again believer will ALWAYS come back to the Lord.....because God the Father will draw them back.
