When I think of what many 13-16 year olds think they know about human biology it makes me cringe, for instance "you can't get pregnant if..."
u are on top
you're on your period
wait, if you're NOT on your period
he pulls out
you douche with coca-cola

How can some of you people who HAVE to know some 14 year olds, possibly think that they are capable of being parents? Or that they know everything there is to know about sex/pregnancy and willfully choose to ignore it? I'm talking in GENERAL. I'm sure many of you will say "Well MY daughter is 12 and knows EVERYTHING about pregnancy" great... I'm talking about generalities, the majority of 13-16 year old girls have many misconceptions about pregnancy.

Plus studies show us that teenagers simply have not developed an adult concept of consequences. This is partly why when YOU all did STUPID CRAP AS A KID!!! Now that you are older, would you skateboard off a roof? Or drive your truck into the surf?

And I mean even if you never did ut b4 so you could have learned your lesson. I never played mailbox baseball or set off firecrackers in my hand, but have no interest in being an idiot now that i'm older.

Children are simply incapable of seeing their mortality as adults are.

And I';m not saying that ll of this justifies abortion, I;m simply saying that that argument "They are old enough to have sex, they are old enough to deal with the consequences" is so ridiculous, that you should be embarrassed to even use it.

Searcher!! nice comeback! That's a good point. Part of the ability to deal with a procedure like an abortion is how the whole thing is presented to the child. If it;s presented as a murder but a necessary one as opposed to a simple medical procedure, I'm sure recovery will be much more difficult.

And I still would rather my 14 yr old go to therapy for dealing with an abortion than raise a child for the next 18-25 years.

Kids between the ages of 13-16 are not old enough, not mature enough, don't know how to take the responisibility. As listed <<>>

They should wait til til they are 21 or older to better understand all of this sexual stuff. Under 21 they are not mature, being responsible to handle all of this stuff. Younger than 21 don't know how to handle all of that and don't know anything about sex and handle responsibly.

Best thing to do is wait til they are 21 and older to get married, have kids, etc... NOT before 21, bad idea for guys before 21 to get girls pregnant out of wedlock and how is he going to support the child if he and she don't have a job. It's takes a lot of work and responsibility to do all of that. What about Child Support? That is something else this male boy needs to think about. Think about AIDS, HIV, Syphillis, etc...You don't know if he or she have these diseases. There are too many kids and adults out there who can not be trusted these days. Woman and girls can not trust a guy when he says I am using a condom and have sex with her without using one and got her end up pregnant. He is getting himself in a real big trouble for that.

Make sense?

By that logic it is wrong to teach evolution to 14 year olds.

Besides, most pregnancies are unintentional. I was born by accident. So was my brother. So was my dad. Oh and my grandma was 16 when my dad was born. They didn't just say, "Oh we can't handle this responsibility" they got jobs, got a small house and now they have a prosperous family. Having a kid may teach teenagers more about responsibility then anything else could. Abortion is no answer. Abortion just says, "Woops you made a mistake, but you do not have to learn from it, just kill the baby and you're back to where you began"

if you THINK you're old enough to lay down and make that decision..then you should handle the consequences that follow.

"And I';m not saying that ll of this justifies abortion, I;m simply saying that that argument "They are old enough to have sex, they are old enough to deal with the consequences" is so ridiculous, that you should be embarrassed to even use it."

no you should be embarrassed to lay down on your back and produce a child and not being able to take care of it. just because you THINK you're old enough doesn't mean anything. if you cant even get a job by the state legal age...what makes you think your qualified to even have a child? to abort a child because of your ignorance is embarrassing.

"Children are simply incapable of seeing their mortality as adults are."

if you think that is true..then im moving to moon.

I do not think that ANYONE who gets pregnant is really old enough to deal with the consequences , the first time at least.

I agree with you. But many cannot see this as anything but a black/white cookie-cutter situation.

Well, if they believe that they're "mature enough" to commit fornication, then they are "mature enough" to handle the consequences.
