The White House is announcing the first part of a military assistance program to Mexico to help its military fight drug cartels at the same time the Department of Transportation is pressing ahead to allow 100 Mexican trucking companies run long-haul rigs in the U.S. without restriction. WND has reported a Drug Enforcement Administration report this year confirmed Mexican commercial drivers play a major role in the country's drug cartel traffic into the U.S.

The White House included as part of the Iraq Supplemental Funding Request sent to Congress today an unprecedented $500 million for Mexico and $50 million for Central American countries to combat transnational crime and drug smuggling.

The White House confirmed the requested $500 million was part of a $1.4 billion program President Bush has discussed to fund "security cooperation" with Mexico.

Well, at least you now know that the drug cartels are being supported by the US dollar. Who does Bush think runs the drugs in Mexico, duh? the Government!
I tell you, the US government is such a whooz. I'm Mexican and I know where that money is going. There isn't fighting drugs in Mexico, that's what's keeping it alive. Example: I know of a Drug King Pin that served 7 years in a US prison for money laundering (because they couldn't get him on anything else) and when he was deported, within a month or so, he was the chief of police in a border town in Sonora. Today, he's even a director of police for many small cities close to the border.
Where's the person asking for the Senate or House vote on that, and calling your Senator or House to vote no on giving Mexico money to fight the war on drugs. That is an endless war with no positive outcome. The only way to win the war on drugs if for US citizens to quit using. No demand - no product.

What is wrong with it is that $500 million would go along way in building the fence. Mexico has been instrumental in helping to make our current illegal immigration problem worse. Bush is selling us out with this NAU BS. Mexico needs to take care of it's own problems and the US needs to take care of ours. Build the damn Fence! People get active, call, email or fax Congress and the White House! If he likes Mexico so well he should move there!

Yes and why can't we just use that 1.4 billion, which is the total amount Bush wants to give them, to build the wall. Why doesn't the US let our border patrol do their jobs. Compean and Ramos are facing 20 years for shooting a smuggler in the leg while fleeing the scene. personally I think it's a scam. Mexico is running out of oil and the government is broke. Maybe it's more like a downpayment for ownership of Mexico.

Bush is a neo-con globalist who pretended to be a compassionate conservative. Who knew that his compassion was only for illegal alien invaders? Screw fighting Mexican drug lords; let's just legalize grass and cocaine and take the profits away from the Mexican and Colombian drug lords.
No Mexican truck drivers on US roads!

God this is worse than I thought. Contact your Senator today to express your outrage:

I mean even the corrupt Senate keeps voting this down. everyone knows that more than 80% of Americans are against this yet Bush persists I mean this is the weirdest thing I have ever seen in my life. Talk abotu creating rage in the peopel it's like that's what Bush is trying to do, like I said very odd.

Every news company as liberal as they are knows that the Mexican truckers are dope mules, my God Bush just hates Americans he thinks we are nothing and I am a Republican. He's nothing short of Mad King George.

That is not good. If our own government can't even spend earmarked funds properly, what the hell makes him think Mexico is going to manage 500 million!

We are throwing that money down the toilet!

What a travesty. As if that is going to stop anything. Take all that money and fund military assistance for border control, on our side of the fence.
