how do fire ashes harm the lungs..... since i live next to refineries, and freeways can fire ashes further deteriorate my lungs?

Yes the particles in the smoke get into your lungs as you breathe in the smoke. Since many things produce harmful gases or ash aka byproducts it can damage you lungs to breathe in the harmful vapors, smoke and byproducts etc.

ya. it blocks ur lung ability to put oxygen into ur blood. fumes from houses have toxic partials in them that kill lung tissue stay inside and keep ur lungs clean. fumes from paint hurt ur lung a lot more than fumes from cars. refineries and cars have regulations so that the polutaints wont hurt ur lungs too much the air from the fire is horrible and VERY unhealthy. yes it will hurt ur lungs more.

if you are that close to the fire that you are seeing ashes it's time to worrie about more than your lungs.
