Why do they say girls are more mature that men?

they say that I at the age of 23 and a girl at the age of 18 are at the same matureity level. then why is it that girls play all these mind games on us guys? If you like a girl and she likes you why dont you just get together? Instead you play all these mind games and just end just ruining the relationship and then never getting together. The only girls that I find that are mature are 5 years older than me.

Teenage girls are slightly more mature than teenage boys because they develop earlier, but I don't think this statement is true anymore in the 20s age group. I'm 21 and I honestly can say that many girls my age are just as immature as the guys, or even moreso sometimes. It's just that society expects women to be more mature, whereas men even when they are as old as my father can be expected to be immature at times. Ever notice the saying "Boys will be boys"?

I don't know why they say that girls are more mature than men. I think the maturity level of a person has to do with life experiences and has nothing to do with age. For instance I am 24 years old my parents divorced when I was 8 years old. Life was hard. Right now I have a 2 1/2 year old son and I'm going to be getting married soon. I know a girl who is just turning 21 her parents were never divorced, she wore all the cool clothes and she had everything given to her. Right now she has 2 kids, both with different Daddies and she likes to play mind games with men, and get people mad at each other so even though she is 21 she acts like she is about 13.

Women mature much faster than men. Most 17-year old females can function as adults. Most 17-year old males are still trading baseball cards and giving each other wedgies after gym class. This is why high school romances rarely work out. To think about it, it makes sense why the younger girls always try to date the older guys. In not all cases true but its just guys want to joke around more and live life while the girls want to get control of life and play later. note this. when growing up you can see the guys playing football rough houseing while the girls are on the side lines playing house with there dolls. already at a girl's mind they want to grow up quicker than guys. Not all are like this but in most cases it can be.

You can't compare genders like that. Girls are not more mature than men. Girls on average are more mature than boys of the same age and, women, at least to their mid-20s are more mature than men of the same age ... there's a difference between boys/girls and women/men - even if we sometimes call a woman a girl - it's kind of a societal quirk of ours that is just accepted. Forget that "5 year" concept. Every individual is different and, every comparison of two people, not just of maturity, but for any characteristic, must be evaluated on it's own.

Why do they say females are more mature than males? Because it's true - in some respects. But it's not something you should spend a lot of time thinking about - consider people based on who they are at any given point in time - not on their age.

well if a man or guy insisted on being called a man or a guy or men, as you have stated in your question but your refered to me as a girl, that would p*ss me off and inform me that I was more mature. I am mature enough to be a woman and you to be a man. Women get better car insurance rates because of the level of maturity. A womans insurance rates go down at age 21, where as a man's doesn't until he's 25. so maybe it's not just the "girls" who think they are more mature. perhaps it's the nation.

It's because guys maturity level plateaus at the age of 16. :)

I am gonna get so many negative ratings for this!! But, its how I truly feel. I have dated a range of guys from 18-28 and the 28 year old was the most immature of them all. Looks like I'm effed either way.

The reason you think they are mature at 5 years older then you is because those women are more ready to settle down the the 18 y/o. The 18 year old knows she is young and has a lifetime ahead of her to make decisions on who to be with. You take it as a game, because she is flirty and probably doesn't follow through. I think she is probably just keeping her options open.

Your very small sampling is not enough to make a hypothesis.

you may find that you may also have some responsibility is the selection of your mate. You are involved in the selection process as much as they are if not more. maybe you choose poorly and need to examine what it is you are looking for.

For example I like all kinds of women. Blonds, red heads, white Mexican etc. There are many that I find attractive. But as i look through my history of the women I have dated most of them are slim/athletic short to medium height and have brown straight hair. i don't really go looking for them but...maybe I do?

I am sure personality traits are the same way.
If you like older women then date older women. When you get older you will want a younger one. It is just the way it works.

Oh and I have still not matured and find that maturity is overrated...Im 37 and still have my baseball cards but i also have cooler toys now like my vett and my GSXR1000 and the girls like those. oh and wedgies are still funny.

Look at the way women are raised. When they were little girls they had the imagination of being a woman, a mother, and possesed the idea of what they want in life. They saw things years ahead of boys. As for us, we lived one day at a time, being in sports, making money, but the thought of marriage and settling down was always the last thing in our minds. As for the mind games... Well, were we really thinking with our minds between the age of 14-24?

Actually girls want to get mature early, so they try their level best to show they are. But its not always true. Although sometimes it is. Some girls are really patient nd mature. They know how to handle things. The girls who are just trying to get mature.stay away from them.because instead of handling things the right way they just spoil everything.
