That is actually an intelligent question and I will try to give an intelligent answer. When it refers to man being made in the image of God I believe it is refering to the spirit of man. I know that there are those who teach that it refers to what Adam may have looked like but that brings up questions of race and ethnic background.

I've often wondered this myself, and finally, I decided that on an atomic level, we do look like god, male or female, atomically, we are all the same. So since God can be as large or as small as he/she/it wants, this seems to answer the question.
I kind of think of God as pure energy, transferable, changeable, but always in existence in some form or other. Since we really have no clue what happens when we die, we can guess that at some point everything that makes us who we are will be transformed into something else, smaller pieces, dust, atoms...etc. but never completely destroyed...the atoms that make us will always exist, and therefore, we are all connected, and will always be one with God. Makes you feel small don't it.

LOL Um, no. Sexual organs are for reproduction and God doesn't need to reproduce. He isn't a human being. "Made in God's image" means that we are a three-part being: body, soul, and spirit. God is a three-part God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and yet He is one God and not three. Don't ask me to explain the trinity though, I can't! My brain is too small. I just believe that it's true.

Having the “image” or “likeness” of God means, in the simplest terms, that we were made to resemble God. Adam did not resemble God in the sense of God’s having flesh and blood. Scripture says that “God is a spirit” (John 4:24) and therefore exists without a body. However, Adam’s body did mirror the life of God, insofar as it was created in perfect health and was not subject to death.

The image of God refers to the immaterial part of man. It sets man apart from the animal world, fits him for the “dominion” God intended (Genesis 1:28), and enables him to commune with his Maker. It is a likeness mentally, morally, and socially.

Genesis uses the term demuth (correct me on my spelling) when he said man was created in His image, this means that he was made similar but not exact, the Bible is also clear that God is a spirit and spirits do not have a sexual orientation.

I believe in a god of unconditional love that created our souls with free will (not humans) in his likeness. many souls could not bear to leave fathers side for the loss of love. many souls went out and returned to share their adventures. Some souls rebeled wanted to be a god themselves. This place (earth system) WAS CREATED FOR THE SOUL TO MAKE ITS FINAL CHOICE. Do they really want to be a "little God and live in dominion=lordship over others. or return to father of love/fellowship/joy/sharing/ab... bliss.

What if heaven and hell are exactly the same except for one difference? What ever you picture in your head heaven to be, imagine hell to be the same except for one difference. Everything you can do in heaven you can do in hell except for one difference. The difference is love or dominion. If you choose love you are in heaven, you are sharing love/joy/fellowship, absolute bliss in all you do.

If you choose dominion you are in hell, everyone will be dominion bent, acting without regard to anything but personal pleasure, personal gain, exercising power over others. Everyman for himself in all that is done. Everything else is the same.

Now which path do/will you choose? LOVE or DOMINION

And "god" would also have to be very humanlike in a lot of other ways too. Considering how "imperfect" religionists love to tell us we are, how odd, of God.
