Maximus

Thanks!

A german name is perfect. Name him after the guy who invented the Barber Pole, Otto B. Astripper . You know that blue and red thing outside of Barber shops. This guy really new a lot about those poles.

Of your choices, I would say Roman is the best because of the phonetics of it. Dogs typically respond best to short names with a distinctive, trailing vowel sound...in this case though, I think the hard O in Roman would be a good signal for him. Think of raising your voice to really get the dogs attention and say the name with authority...if it still sounds kind of soft or whimpy (as in not distinct enough) it's probably not the best choice.

I think Howie Felternatch is so cute. After Howie Feltersnatch, the famous Male Ballet Dancer!

If you want a German name, my advice would be to type in German baby names (the word baby brings up better sites for just names). Here's a couple I found:

http://www.thinkbabynames.com/search/1/german/1
http://babynamescountry.com/origins/german_baby_names1.html

From those sites, I found Warner, which would be a cool name for a dog.

You could go with the obvious, Herr Hund (Mr. Dog), and since your female is "Fraulein", "Herr" would be a good part of his name. You might pair it up with another German name, like:

Klaus
Hansel
Johann
Wilhelm (pronounced "Vilhelm")
Tomas ("Toe-moss")
Petre (Pay-ter)

I especially like "Herr Wilhelm", since both dogs would then have a title and a "V" sound at the beginning of their names.

I've notice most dogs answer to those cliche names like Rover, or Spot. I just found that interesting. Also I've always liked Bloo as a dog name. BEFORE BLUES CLUES STARTED!
