I am 18 years old, and he is 27. We havnt talked about dating yet, its just a thought in my head. I really like him a lot and he seems to also like me. He is very kind, and respects me, and does not try to pull any moves on me. We have good conversation and we also connect on many levels. It is not illigal becuase i am 18 years old, but i wonder if it would be able to work out. Give me your honest opinion, i would appriciate it. Thank you.

Love is not all about age, it's all about maturity.

When it comes to age, I always give the same advice. Forget about age factors. Older guys are generally more mature and settled. They have moved past the bunny stage and have a better chance, from life experience, of being great lovers and partners. Women from many cultures throughout the world prefer older men for these reasons and more. My wife is 27 years younger and I have 57 years life experience and the last few years have come with a smile.

My honest opinion would be no. There is a bit of an age gap and you are at way differant points in your lifes. What you should be doing in your life may be something he has already done, and hes ready to move past that. It may look good right now, but in the end really you should live out your life, and not skip parts becuase he is done.

But in the end, you already know what the answer is, and you already know what your going to do. Try to merge them together.

Its' entirely possible for the two of you to date, if both of you are willing to give it a shot.

The only issue you might run into, is that since he's older, he's seen/done more things than you probably have. So he'll be more experienced or used to certain things that you're not. But as long as the two of you are mature and have an open mind, a relationship between you two, could totally work.

When I was 19 I went out a few times with someone who was 29. He was super hot- drove a sports car- had a good career- owned his own home with a pool. But after a few dates- I found out we really had nothing in common except mutual attraction. We were in two different phases of our lives. I had nothing in common with his friends- he had nothing in common with my friends.

I think 27 may be too old for you. Looking back- I am glad I had relationships with men closer to my age as we experienced life together. However- everyone is different and if he asks you out then only you will know if it's right or not.

Good Luck!

No, you never know until you try. If you do what to date and your both on the same level then really it's up to you.

I've had friends that were 18/19 dating a guys who was in their early 30's.

If you were talking 30 and 39 I might say it would work - but people change a LOT between 18 and 26 . . . even though you may think you're mature and ready for a serious relationship I just think you're going to change more than he is in the next few years.

That's fine as long as he treats you right and you are both on the same page in life. I'm 19 years old dating a 26 year old and we've been together for over 2 years (living together for 1.5 years).
It really depends on the individual. I'm more mature for my age and graduated highschool when I was 16 years old (that is why he had no idea I was so young when we met).

How would it work out between you and someone nine years younger than you? Really, there are substantial maturity differences between 18 and 27 in regular development, so it seems unlikely the relationship would exist on an even basis.

I was with my sons father for over 7 years and I was 18 and he is 14 years older than me. We seprated not because of age but because of other circumstances. It all depends on your maturity levels and wether or not you have otehr things you are compatible in. It can work. Just follow your heart.

I don't think he's too old if it feels right. I have friends who are 14 going out with 22-year-olds (which in my opinion is going too far - but I'm just saying 18 to 27 is fine in my opinion!)

good luck
