CJ I highly doubt that you have been to a Catholic Mass. If you had you would not say the things that you do. By your statement you are calling Jesus a liar.

My Methodist church choir (in which I sing) was invited to sing and participate in worship at a Catholic cathedral. It was a lovely experience ! Not really my cup of tea as a place to worship on a regular basis (with all the formality), but I have the utmost respect for their beliefs and the beauty of their rituals.

BTW, I was just looking back over some of the responses you have gotten from some very strange Protestants. I disassociate myself from their opinions, to say the least ! I don't think anyone at MY church feels the way these people are expressing...at least I hope not !)

Oh, and like some of the others, I have no idea what a "bible only" Protestant is, so that may mean that I am not one in which case I shouldn't have answered....sorry....

Only Catholics name their worship provider "Mass" or "Eucharistic Celebration". The Protestants (adding Presbyterian) without difficulty say "Service". The Catholic Mass is extra formal and consistently entails the rite of transubstantiation and communion, in conjunction with extra readings and songs and no more time 'preaching' through the celebrant. There are set Rules, and many others. in Protestant offerings additionally, it's hardly ever a whilly nilly predicament.

When I WAS a "Bible-only" fundamentalist, I went to a Mass ... and it changed my life.

There's your reason why most don't go, and won't.

Thank you, by the way, for flushing out a few more anti-Catholic bigots to add to my "Blocked" collection. My e-mail inbox shall soon be blissfully free of hate mail.

Mim, you might actually get something out of the Mass if you were to go for the right reasons. Attending Mass as a singing timekeeper isn't doing you or anyone else any favors.

Our protestant brothers and sisters who love the word of God would come to realize much of the mass is from the book of revelation

I was raised Protestant and went to Roman Catholic schools which included weekly mass. I don't know what a "bible only" Protestant is...

do you mean with an open mind to worship God with others who put their hope in a system which has been proclaiming to be the system originated by it's founder-Jesus...very few indeed...Or do you mean with a pre-conditioned agenda that only they could possibly be smart enough and faithful enough to 'know' how pagan 'that' church is...the bulk of them methinks

For those of you calling it Pagan, you might want to review how the early Christians worshiped.

Are you kidding? How could they remain in their ignorance if they did that?
Just look at CJ's answer. He might burst into flames if he went to Mass
