I've been a member of the church of Christ for over 20 years. Let me give you the Bible's take on this. Jesus established His church on the day of Pentecost. There is no Biblical evidence that Jesus established the Catholic church, the Baptist church, the Pentecostal church, or any other. In Biblical fact, there is no other church.
The church of Christ (and I mean that as a denominational term) claims adoption into the family of God and, therefore, into the Bible's church or the church of Christ.
Your question on music...there is no evidence that the New Testament church used instruments. Some members of the church of Christ understand since we don't have permission to use it in the assembly of worship, it's wrong to use it. I wouldn't agree to that extreme but still I worship in an a capella congregation based on the Biblical facts.
The thing that attracts me to this fellowship is the reverence for God, Jesus, and the Spirit; the respect for the scriptures; and the interest in the truth. We aren't perfect and sometimes are guilty of shoving the Bible down someone's throat (which is actually anti-productive) but I don't believe you will find a church family that is more interested in observing church practices the same as the way it is taught in the New Testament when Jesus established His church. Hope this helps.

All churches claim to be the one true church, be it Mormons, Catholics, Protestants, Greek Orthodox, etc. and they are all wrong.
This whole God thing has managed to get way out of hand, for the last few thousand years man has managed to kill millions if not billions of his own kind because the other guy didn't believe in the same "God" as him.
In my book that makes for a really bad excuse to kill someone, yet throughout history this has been the case. If we disbanded all organised religion would wars come to an end? Might be worth a try, certainly beats what we have right now.

It's because the churh is a prophecy which christ made. the prophecy has been fulfilled. The prophecy states that from the first century church it will reemerge in the beggining of the seventh seal ( a war which is the first world war.) and be led by a messenger of god (Bro. Felix Y. Manalo) to preach his teachings. Other churches were not prophesied and has been purchased by christ with his blood. (Christ's death for the church.

All churches are man made. The buildings the rituals, the measuring, the judging, the music the lack of music.
Believers focus on communing with Yahweh and giving Yahweh thanks and praise for creating and sustaining the universe.
Praising the creator is never limited or circumscribed, nature praises Yahweh in the storm and in the sunny day. Focus on giving thanks and praise the rest is just man and men thinking they have discerned something divine when all they have really done is futher magnified their own shortcomings and their need to know Yahweh better.

The true church traces its lineage back to St Peter, St. Paul and the Apostles, this was the only Church founded by Jesus Himself. This Church has existed for the almost 2,000 years since that time, everyone knows it as the Catholic (or universal) Church.
All the others are sects which have been invented since that time and are thus, obviously man-made. So the so-called Church of Christ is in this latter category and is undoubtedly man-made.

The Church of Christ is just one of many groups who say they're the only ones who are right. Kinda makes you wonder what heaven will be like. Will there be walls separating the Church of Christ, Catholics, Baptist, and Presbyterians from each other?

there are many examples of instraments in the old testiment David played the harp before saul and danced to many instraments when he was king. the tital church of Christ is right but their atitude is wrong. Jesus is the head of the church and any church that does not see we are all equal before God is not of Jesus.

I have a friend as well as a family member who belongs to Church of Christ. They are caring, loving people who have been deceived by a legalistic organization. That doesn't mean they are not saved, however, because I know them quite well and they have professed their faith in Christ many times. They are simply stuck in legalism, which is a robber of joy!
Jesus came to set us free of the law. In Him I reside.
God bless!

You mean musical instruments?
They are not in the Bible?
Malarky!!!
Joshua had his military band parade around Jericho blowing their Trumpets. There are notes about drumming and other music making too.

I am continually baffled by their opposition to instruments in church...........I don't see the biblical case for it.
I also believe that my church is a church of Christ..........and we are all His body.
Their beliefs do nothing but separate them from other believers and cause them to be intolerant of even other believers...................however, some of the Church of Christ churches in my area are good............I just disagree with their "rules"............and don't think they are biblical.
