The defendant would have to file a Petition for Modification of Sentence in order to be released from probation earlier than expected. A probation officer does not have the authority to release you early without authorization from the Court.

The answer legally seems to be no. The person in question was already either a. put on probation for a crime instead of jail time or b. went to prison but was release early. You still have to do your time either in or out of jail. The purpose of probation and parole is to free up space for more dangerous criminals. Whether there are fines and fees attached does not matter. They still have to give the court's the time they were sentenced.

Jean, it seems to me that all the courts want is your money. There is a factor here though, you could pay all the money up front but the courts or I should say the Judge ordered you to be supervised for a certain amount of time. So, common sense would dictate to me honey that even if you paid the court costs and all the fees up front, you will still have to be supervised as the Judge has ordered. I hope this has helped. Blessings

Yes, the probation officer may release you early by petitioning the judge (you may not even have to go to court yourself). Pay up and you'll be suprised how quickly they'll release you.

Not likely. The court ordered probation rather than jail time. This makes the offender more aware of his/her actions. Basically, they are keeping a thumb on them.
