The problem is more people know more about the laws of man than the laws of God.
Those that understand what God expects will react accordingly.
Key word react instead of taking action, as in learning and study.

"Situation ethics" is a poor term, in my opinion. It is possible for a person to have a solid ethic (firm beliefs and principles regarding right and wrong), but he or she will sometimes be forced to make difficult choices in how to apply those ethics because not every moral situation is black and white.
For instance, is it wrong to kill? In the case of premeditated murder, I would say yes; in the case of self-defense, I would say no. In the Bible, Christians argued over whether it was acceptable to eat meat that had been offered to idols. The apostles themselves appeared to disagree on this issue.
In short, I don't think there is always one answer for every situation.

All of my ethics are "situation ethics." God gave me the ability to know right and wrong, so I apply my ability to make that determination depending on the situation. I try to apply what God is trying to tell me at the time than depend on a book written for an audience that died 2000 years ago.

I would stand firm on the word of God. We are either for Him or against Him.. That is clear in the Bible. If we are truly OF God, then it is only by His word we live. There is no middle road. When we make decisions in a situation that is pleasing to God, (keeping God's word in our mind and heart.) we can't make a mistake. We will be blessed. When God is center in our life it becomes easy to stand firm in HIS word.

No, I dont use situation ethics, they are not ever of God. There is only one right or wrong way to do things. WE either do it Gods way or the devils way, no other options.God never says to obey ONLY WHEN ITS EASY AND CONVENIENT. WE are commanded to obey, period, just as Jesus obeyed the Father into perfection. Thats our high calling, to have the character and mind of Christ, as we live in service for Him We are to be like Jesus, speak like Jesus, all of the above, and we can do that by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which is given to empower us to desire the full will of God.
PPl will scream about these situation sethics and its all wrong.
Like if you had a jew in your home, and someone was looking for them, nazis and wanted to kill all the jews. If you say they are hidden in your house, they will be killed, probably you too. So if you tell the truth, you all die. If you lie, you live. Well, where is the faith in your lying?? God said DO NOT LIE. So you tell the truth, and what happens happens. At least you did not sin. My life and the life of others, are not more important that going to heaven. Absolutely not I trust in Jesus to protect me, and He will if I stay in His will and obey just as HE obeyed the Father. How can we expect God to hear us and protect us, when we live as the devil says to live?
NO NO NO.
HEres the other example most often used to say these situational ethics are ok. Someone says do you think I am ugly? So you either lie and say no, which is wrong, or you say Yes you are ugly, and you hurt them. God doesnt want us to hurt them. Ok, are those the only options folks?? NO.
I have had someone that is very hard to look at ask me that, and I say you know what, What I find beautiful, someone else finds homely, another finds beautiful, another homely, it doesnt matter. You are beautiful to God, and all those who love you will find you beautiful. ANd, not only that its what inside that counts. Let only God determine your value. Some may want to say you have value and others try to take from you what you have. So, never care what I think or anyone else. Care only what God says and He sees us all as beautiful.
I have said that many times in my life, and never once did I see a hurt reaction, and yet I spoke truth.
God gives us a mind and expects us to use it, we can often find things to say without lieing or hurting somoene. BUt, when there is no other way other than say yes there is a jew in the backroom here, then we must say that, and believe that its in God hands, and we will be blessed no matter what.
Even if we were killed, so what... Our troubles would be over, and we would with in glorlyland instantly We must get out of the spirit of fear, and walk only in the spirit of HOPE, in Christ.
WE always take the stand to stand for God, pulbically and privately, absolutely. Only what God thinks matters. Noone else deceides our destiny, why try to please the world who only hates you anyhow for being a Chrsitian?
LEts concern ourselves with pleasing God. and then have peace at all times.
great thought provoker, girl
God will bless you for your great questions that always honor HIM>

We are to stand firm on the word of God in any type of situation we may encounter. I would much rather do what is right according to God's word than to impress man any day.

I will stand firm on the Word of God in any and all situations....
Sorry but......bending the rules shouldn't apply to certain situations.
We're either with Him or against Him.....no gray areas

Christians just reinterpret "God's word" to fit the current situation.
So I find it to be a bit of both, in a sense.

Well - we of course are to follow God even when it is tough - but as much as we know that is true and best we all still fall short.
I fail, but my heart is sincere for God even when I do,and I think seeking God and doing better helps us find strength and wisdom.
God looks on the heart, and is forgiving (but we can't abuse his grace).

you made a mistake in the last 6 words of your question.
what is right before man is not always right before god
Example: the Death penalty if it is right in your state & you are on the jury to decide if the guilty gets it you know he is guilty but it is a sin to kill & your vote does it.
God or man?
