ok. i also have six kittens in this litter. plus the mum and dad. make sure you clean the litter tray out 3 times a day and put enough litter in the tray so they can bury their mess. how old are the kittens? if they are just starting to walk, you may need to purchace a kitty litter tray. it basically has smaller sides so they can step over it. kittens copy their mother when litter training so ensure both mother and kittens trays are kept beside eachother. i have 2 litter trays, but really need 3.
FLEAS--- call the RSPCA as they can give you a money off token (even if you are working) take them to the vets and they de-flea them. you only pay 15 pounds. otherwise, you can buy frontline (i would not recommend anything other than frontline) from the vets. spray is better for the kittens and spot on for the adults. call the council and get your house fumigated as you will now probably have an infestation and will just keep infesting your cats so it will be like a rollercoaster ride - you will need to de-flea them all the time!
hoover/vaccum every day to keep fleas at bay! good luck !
oops- advantage is really good too lol.. i forgot about that sorry!!!!!!!!!

How old are they? They could probably do with a litter tray each. Kittens that have stayed with their mothers for at least 8 weeks should learn proper toilet habits from her; if they haven't, start putting them in the litter trays when they start to pee or poo, and if they poo anywhere else, put the poo in the trays. Make sure the trays are someone vaguely private, and away from their food bowls. Cats just need to be shown where is appropriate to go when they're starting out, it's what their mothers do.

Now for flea treatment: get some from a vet. Veterinary spot-ons can be used on animals over 8 weeks of age. Under 8 weeks of age, you need Frontline spray. You will probably have to spray your house as well, since this is where most of the fleas are living. Get something from a vets, not a pet store. Pet stores aren't licensed to sell the proper chemicals for flea treatment - anything you find in store is just going to be a basic pesticide that you can't expect to work.

Get rid of the litter and try sand for a little while, could be the litter is tough on the little paws. Make sure it is clean and does not have worms in it. Also for kittens and fleas use the old fashioned blue dawn dish detergent. It is what my vet recomended when the kitten was to young for flea meds and it worked. I still use it and my cats are 1 1/2 years old

Crystal is right about the boxes, when I had two cats I had two litter boxes. They wind up doing one business in one of them and the other business in the other.
I'd also ask about the type of litter you are using. Cats have a natural, instinctual need to scratch at sand-like material, which is why they potty train so easily. Make sure it is not too odorous or the kittens will be wary of it. Also, don't use those hoods or tops on the litter boxes, they drive cats crazy. Just clean them daily and keep in a well ventilated area.

For solving little messes, there's this stuff called citrus magic you can get at any pet supply store, and I think they have it at Walmart too. You squirt some on the floor after you've cleaned up the stain and it removes all trace smells so the cat will not use that spot again. It worked wonders in our little apartment.

The best thing you can do is just keep putting the kittens in the litter boxes and let them scratch and dig around. They will get the idea pretty quick, providing there isn't a reason to be afraid of the box (things I named above).

As for fleas, you'll have to go with Crystal's advice, because I keep indoor only cats, specifically so that I don't have to deal with fleas and ear mites. Having a cat (or 6!) in your life is a joyous adventure, best of luck to you!

More details are need. How many boxes do you have? How often do you clean them? How old are the kittens? How old were they when they were taken from their mom?

By the rule. one box for every cat plus one, you need 7 boxes, but that is a little extreme. I would say you need at least 3 spread around so that the kittens are never too far from a box. Their mom should have taught them how to use the box, but if they were taken away too soon, there will be some problems.

I would suggest adding more boxes, and also a trip to the vet to check for UTI (which can caouse litterbox avoidance) and get them on a monthly heartworm preventative such as Revolution (also prevents and treats fleas!).

Do not use any flea product you can buy in the store. They can kill the kittens, even if the product says it is safe, and are just too strong in general for a cats sensitve skin. Also, flea collars do not work.

well first of a general rule is to have more than one cat box for every 2 cats 4 litter boxes or just put down newspaper in their living space oh and try some flea powder thats safe for animals.

it takes young kittens a while to learn the concept of the litter box i dont know exactly how long but a while also cats dont like to share a litter box.
as for the fleas get the flea shampoo and just wash them in the tub towel dry.... or get advantage advantage works way more easy just a drop of it on the cats back and fleas go away i have used both methods on my cat advantage is more expensive so since you have 6 of them you may opt for the flea shampoo for cats.
