Atheism accounts for much less than 10% of the american population, and only slightly more than 10% on the world population...versus Xianity accounting for nearly 50% of usa population, and 33% of world population...wouldn't the wide path be Xianity? (by your own silly proverbs of course)

Just because a smaller amount of people are in the atheist category that does not make the path right- because it is small. And besides some of those people who call themselves Christians really aren't. Being born into a family that attends church does not make that person a Christian. The narrow path, is Jesus- He is the only way to heaven. It has nothing to do with numbers, my friend, and everything to do if you truly are a born again Christian or not- Jesus is the narrow path- not the people. SORRY!!

The wide path would be those who are governed by their animal instincts, who take what they want and live for themselves. Many who call themselves Christian fall into the category. I would say that most who think Christianity is all about waiting for the Rapture or Christ's return so that they can get some sort of reward fit into this category.

The narrow path is about experiencing the presence of Christ right now, and being faithful to the things He taught -- compassion and justice.

not that you really care about serious answers, but this morning I feel like giving you one, just in case you are paying attention.

The saying is very simple---there is a narrow path that leads to doing right. It is easy to do wrong, it is hard to always do right. (and, no, the only way to stay on that path does NOT have to be through Jesus---there are righteous Gentiles in the Bible.)

Doing the right thing, forgiving others, and showing humility are three major themes in the Bible. I will be merciful and stick to two of them. Old Testament.

Micah 6:8---He has shown thee, oh man, what is good and what the Lord requires of thee, but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God.

do the right thing, treat others well, especially when they need forgiving, and God is God and you are not---have some humility.

Here is a Psalm---I can quote it accurately but do not wish to look it up, so you'll have to take my word for it.

"Who shall ascend to the hill of the Lord? Who shall stand in the holy place. He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

"He shall receive the blesing of the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation..."

These are our "silly proverbs"---do justly, have clean hands, love mercy, pure heart, be humble, and don't lie---actualy, swear deceitfully is not the same, it means that you testify against another person dishonestly.

There is the narrow path, my friend and contact. If you can stay on that path, as you should, as everyone should, when you are dead, you will have as much of a chance for salvation as anyone who calls themselves a Christian, according to our scriptures.

Over in Europe only 5% of the people admit to being Christian....
But if you read all of your Bible you would also have read that there are even church leaders that will be sent to hell. Jesus said he will tell them he dose not know them. For they teach what they would like, not what the Bible dose say.
Look at most Christians today. They are claiming Jesus is God, even though there are over 500 places in the New Testament that state that God is God and Jesus is Jesus son of God. The reason most want to call Jesus as God is because they want to disobey the second Commandment and have an image of God, even though God ordered us not to do so. So they are disobeying God.......
And many that call themselves Christian don't go to church, pray, or even read the Bible. My mother is like that.
So how many of us are really doing all we can to be Christian without having others cause what we believe, instead of the whole truth?

Many "profess" to be Christians but continually transgress the Spiritual Laws (Ten Commandments) of God.... That make the path to the Kingdom of God much much narrower . Only "True Christians" who have submitted themselves (born of the Holy Spirit of God) to the Will of God and have endured in their faith to the end will be transformed into glorified spiritual beings and have eternal life in the Kingdom of God......BTW....This includes rulership over the entire universe.

Not all who call them selves christian are on the right path. the wide path is the easy one following the narrow path is harder and the only way to God's heaven.

If you can't tell the difference , use a tape measure . Measure across the paths . The one with the smaller numbers is the narrow path .

Many of those who insist on calling themselves "christians" would fail the Bible's test on what makes someone a true Christian.
