This is complicated. The lighting is all wrong, the placement is a pain.
Here is a pic of where the web is.

Any ideas?

I'm trying to get a close up. The pic I linked to is just showing where it is and the conditions I have to work with.

Back lit, against a dark backgound would be best.
In the situation you have pictured, it looks like you will have not problem with the dark background, but your available light source is coming from the outside.
My solution would be this: Try to exclude as much of the sunlight as you can. Spread a tarp over the opening and your camera. Get some artificial light inside the shed, but make sure it is all directed to the FRONT, coming from behind the web. If nothing else is available, get some flashlights set up, inside. Don't use that lamp, shown in the picture, unless you can prevent it shining on he wall, in back, and make sure IT is out of the picture.
You will want the narrowest depth of field you can arrange with your camera, so that the web is in sharp focus, and the dark, back wall of the shed is blurred. (widest apreture and fastest shutter speed for the lighting conditions.)
Take as many shots as you can, from different angles and with the lights moved to different positions.

You need to consider lighting. Pick the time of day that the light will hit the web at the angle you need for it to show through the viewfinder.
For the one in the box, consider using artificial lighting(a small desk lamp or off camera flash.

i'm particular there is a few thing written in a e book someplace that could desire to assert "Dreaming of spiders skill that a chum could be 2 confronted on the minute" lol. yet i think of it we could you have heard somebody communicate approximately spiders, or you will possibly have even regarded at one without even thinking approximately the two. My pal had a dream that a significant snake have been given into his homestead and day after at present on the information it mentioned that a significant python have been discovered (that had before been misplaced Lol). probable heard it on the radio without even thinking approximately it, hence the dream. Our minds take virtually each thing in, we merely can not consistently undergo in suggestions it. yet on a extra sub-wakeful point we are extra susceptible to. (subsequently it appearing in desires).

One good way is early in the morning when there is a layer of dew on the ground- there will also be water droplets on the spider web that should make it sparkle in the light and make it visible in your photograph

Try taking the picture when the web has been rained on. The water makes it all sparkly and glistened which is a great effect.

what about sprizting it with water to make the strands stand out more? I don't think this will bother the spider as they must be accustomed to rain showers

There are a couple of way to look at this depending on your intended output (use)
1) Vector art- http://www.printinglogos.com/logos_online/Holiday/pages/halloween_Spider_Web.htm (Free vector download in lower right " PrintingLogos Spider Web Corporation logos vector file type")
2) Image or bitmap- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Spider_webs_in_kona.JPG
Vector art will be easier to edit, e.g. color fills, outlines etc.
Cheers,
M
