Aside from milk which I am not a big fan, what are some good alternatives for building bone density? Nothing illegal, just straight up legit substitutes for milk

you can buy calcium supplements (in the pharmacy, with vitamins etc) which are good... otherwise, dairy products is the obvious one, doesn't have to be milk!

Hi Ryan.

Below I'll post a link to a list of 56 non- dairy (because you're not a fan of milk) sources of calcium.

Keep in mind, getting the calcium in the diet is only one part of the equation. The other part of the equation is performing strength training exercise, which will signal the body to use the calcium from your intake.

What I'm getting at is this; you can take all the supplements and eat all the foods high in calcium, but unless the body feels the need to fortify the bones, you'll simply urinate it out.

The way to signal the body to fortify the bones is through weight bearing exercise. The demand on the body, and the demand on the bones to be able to withstand the force starts the process. At this point, the body will put the calcium to use.

If you'd like some specific strength training exercises that you can do at the gym, or at home if you don't belong to a gym, feel free to see my website www.mcnewsletters.com

I, along with my colleagues have posted some great exercise routines. Best of all, it's free!

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at the site.

Get a Calcium supplement like OsCal or Caltrate, you'll save a good bit of money if you by the generic equivalent to either of these. Just compare to make sure the ingedients are the same.

I like Oscal (generic). I get it Walgreens or Target.
