You would prefer them do so inside?
Oh! I bet your are talking bout someone ELSES dogs coming onto your yard to poop. The onlly 100% effective solutuion is a fence. A nice prickly hedge will keep dogs being walked by owners away but not loose ones
Beyond that there are wildlife repellent ideas that might work (motion activated sprinklers) and of course signs (for leash walked dogs anyway)

Well we had a Chocolate Lab that we taught to go in the woods near our house so we wouldn't have lil Surprizes in our yard . The way we taught her was that when she would go to squat in the yard we would call her into the woods and she would go , then we would give her a treat. Before Long she was going in the woods all by herself. It really helped the Grass too because it no longer had those ugly Yellow pee Spots.

spray them with water, when they come in your yard
drench your lawn to get rid of dog scent.
ask your neighbors to watch their dogs, because your stepping in their dog's poop. or ask them to clean it up when their dog craps in your yard.
My neighbors dog likes pooping in fron of my front door, it aggrivates the crap out of me. I tell her to clean it up.
