I have a friend and she looks so good for her age and I mean pretty and in good shape, better than most thirty year olds! She is in her mid forties but looks in her early thirties. On an internet dating site she put her age as early thirties. On the first meeting with a guy, she always tells him her real age so as not to mislead him. What do you all think?

at least its better than lying about being married..
but its sad, she has a picture on her profile doesnt she?
then the potential dates would see themselves she looks
much younger than her age. I think thats better than lie about it.

And why not , at least she gets to meet the guy but has it altered the relationship and has a man ever asked her out on a second date ? if so then does it really matter as most men go for personality rather than age unless she has sent a very young photo of herself in which case she deserves to be left there and then as the man will not be able to trust a woman like that . I say Go for it gal and i hope she meets a good bloke

I personally think that she should be honest from the get go and post her age on the profile. If she looks that good then she should be proud of her age as well. By fibbing about her age in her profile then telling the guy the truth she is not starting out with them on a good foot. The guy may think she lied about her age, what next? She probably has kids or is married or worse.
She should be proud she is in great shape and tell her age, shock the guys.

Firstly l am careful so do not do Internet dating. Secondly l prefer to be honest with people who l meet or speak to so l am always truthful about my age and figure. How would you or your friend feel lf this young man had told her a lie by saying he was single and then she suddenly found out he had a wife and children. Please be honest with one another in the first place. This is only an instance but just be truthful to one another as trust is the best thing.

My wife looks better than most thirty year old women and is 45. However, she doesn't have to lie. You see, she is not just beautiful but hot from the inside out and therefore no need to lie.
Your friend though hot must be insecure somewhat.

I think nearly everyone (male or female), who's over thirty-forty years of age tells a white lie about his/her age. Perhaps it's somekind of self-denial, esp if they believe they still look and feel younger than their chronological age. I myself, I occasionally do tell a white lie about my age. I look at least ten years younger! But I don't believe in internet dating. Not for me! I'm not that desperate yet! I'm always faithful and loyal to my husband.

If a women is past 30, she perfers not to be sasked her age and lies about it because she feels old. People say it is rude to ask a women that question and say it is better she told you. It is untrue that people don't tell the true on the web. I have never once lied on it. I think it is rude of her to have mislead guys also if she lied about that whos to say she does not lie about more things. I think she needs to aknowledge that she will only get older and accept it with a possitativeness. =)

Does she lie when meeting people in person? (ie not preceded by an internet date). Remember, these internet site do not allow for "late 40's but looks good". They are cold databases that filter out anyone that doesn't match the search criteria.
I don't think it matters as its the person, not their date of birth, thats the important thing. I would not like to think I'd missed out on someone who sounds so hot just because she fell outside of a search string!
If she looks hot and she plays hot - shes hot!

Hmmm....while it's good that she lets the guys know her age on a first date, why does she feel she has to lie if she looks good for her age? She should be proud she is wearing well! LOL!

I agree with allen. But I say as long as she comes upfront and tells them when they meet, I see no problem. It is misleading though initially.
If she looks good for her age, she should be proud of it!
