Since all humans are imperfect, I would venture to say all have sinned once or twice in life. Were you repentant afterward? How did you know you were truly repentant? Did you just know you were or did someone else have to tell you that you were repentant?

What would you say to someone that told you that you were NOT repentant, even though you were? Curious because I had this happen to me.

The longer that I am a Christian, the longer that I understand the level of sin that i commit just by being Human...I repent all of the time. I ask god forgiveness because I sin in ways that I don't even know about.
I outwardly repent and try to change sin that I know about..Sometimes it is sin that I can not change of my own strength, Here is where I ask God to break my will and change me.
Anyone that makes you do pennance by proving that you are repentant is a false prophet and as God says should not be feared...God says that you are forgiven, even before you ask for forgiveness..this is the miracle of Grace.

If you believe that you are a sinner (which, for the record I don't) you would live a life where EVERY day of your life you are sinning... the only way to be truly repentant would be to change the so called Sin behavior and sin no more...
I prefer to think of my life as a series of choices (hence free will) some I like the outcomes and continue... others I decide to choose differently when faced with the same situation in the future.

Of course you are right that we all sin at some point and fall short, but to be truly repentant is to TURN AROUND. You know when you are willing to forsake that thing (whatever it is) and really concentrate on your walk with the Lord you have repented for that thing. God will help you when your heart is right!

Always, at least once or twice in my life? I wish. Sometimes I pray to the Lord God to reveal things to me that I might not have known to be a sin, like maybe saying something to someone that might have been insensitive. Allowing me the opportunity to apologize to that person. Which a lot of our sins fall under not loving our neighbor like we are commanded to do so.
Yes I know when I sin and I am very sorry. I ask for forgiveness with a sincere heart and move on.

It is an ongoing battle to do right. When I fall I repent and get up and vow to never do that again. Being human sometimes I find myslef going in circles and not being 100% faithful and messing up again.

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." There is none righteous, no not one."
EVERYONE is a sinner, dear one. And everyone needs to repent and accept Christ as their Savior.
And yes, I have repented. It is something we do intentionally, so yes, we know when we repent.
God bless!

Yes I have sinned and sorrowed over my sins. I confessed to the proper priesthood authority, was sanctioned, repented and forsook the sin.
When you sorrow for the sin you have committed and you forsake it completely you are truly repentant.

I tend not to have a problem with being repentant. I'm so weird that if I cut somebody off in traffic, even accidentally, I feel bad about that for days.
My problem comes in acknowledging that if God forgives me, how arrogant is it for me not to forgive myself?

All the time.
I know it. I have this thing called a CONSCIENCE.
I know I am repentant because I do my best to always try to make things right.

an honest Christian would say they sin daily but strive to better themselves. We are not perfect but we are forgiven and try to serve God fuller each day.
