You mostly want to stick to fruits, veggies, clear broths, and herbal teas when you have the flu. These foods are easy on your body and your digestive tract, and they give you the nutrients you need to stay healthy while your body is fighting the illness. At the very least, you want to make sure you're staying hydrated. The sugar and caffeine in sodas further dehydrates you, so I'd stay away from them. If you don't like broths or herbal teas, try pedialyte.

Feed a fever starve a cold.

What you need to know about fever:
Fever is bad for you but even worse for the infection it is combating. It takes enormous amounts of energy to maintain that temperature. Please feed it and have your fever. Also drink lots of water.

Keep in mind that it should not go over 41C (105 F)
