that takes a lot of skill and a half way good car to get to the lead on 7 Cylinders and then lead for 30 laps

I totally agree with Gloria...all of you who do not care for him now...Just wait till next yr when he is in great equipment, out there leading and winning races, and showing everyone he can drive and win....All of the Jr doubters will see the real Dale Earnhardt Jr.....We know what he can do with 7 cylinders and no powersteering and crappy handling equipment this yr....Yea...just wait till 2008...

24 fan is dead on here, couldn't have said it better myself. Also I can't wait till Jr goes to Hendrick motorsports and disapoints everyone, this is what you will get for having too high of hopes. Just because Jr is going to Hendrick, may I add the "25" team dosen't mean he will be good off the bat. Kyle Busch has more talent than Dale jr, yet hes only won 2 races this year in a better car then the 25. I expect the 88 next year to struggle like the 25 has been doing this year, Jr fans ill let you in on a little Hendrick secret the 25 or yet to be 88 is just a R&D car, if hendrick decides to put some money into it it still won't be competivie off the bat expect maybe 1 win if its a fluke or at a track Jr runs well at like dega and expect him to miss the chase again and run like the 25 always has....., this is like saying Casey Mears is going to be an awesome driver and win 7 races a year or kyle busch is going to win the cup and win 12 races a year because hes in hendrick equipment. There is a reason the 24 and 48 run well and its not because of hendrick equipment, its because they share info with each other and ONLY each other and are great teammates and drivers

I'm not a Jr hater just a Jr doubter! He is a ok driver, and the races his engine didn't blow up he still wasn't up front. I think he will benefit from moving to a better team. Anyway there are more Gordan and Johnson haters anyway. One of them should be the champion at the end of this season, so I guess there will be more haters. Get over it, there good drivers and they are taking advantage of the team they are on. Just like Jr will next year. GO 48 and 24.

I'm not a Jr hater.. but what I do HATE is all the hype over him. Yeah he's a good driver.. sometimes.. and yeah his dad was a legend...but come on! Who cares! Do some driving.. do some winning and give yourself a REASON to be the most popular guy in Nascar other than a last name!
I like Jr and have seen him do some good driving... but he hasn't won in ....HOW LONG? We can't just keep blaming that on sabotage from this year and hope to the Nascar Gods that he does better next year when he's with HMS.
I'll tell you what.. if he starts winning like the HMS boys I wouldn't be surprised if he started being hated just like Jeff Gordon! But I wish the best for him and hope he does do better next year with the new team.

I already have a favorite driver but have always said he has skills and has held up well under a lot of stuff this year. He has always shown alot more class than 99% of the new drivers, Carl Edwards being a notable exception. (For some of you that dont get it, that was a compliment to Carl).
As far as being the most loved/hated driver in NASCAR, he may be the most loved but JG probably beats him in the Hated category, at least for now. Everyone hates a winner...
Now if JR goes on a tear next year, maybe then we can talk...I do wish him well, as long as he finished behind Gordon that is...lol

I'm not really a Jr. fan, but I still love him and his attitude. He never whines or cries or complains, and we were lucky to be at Martinsville this weekend to see Junior get on the helicopter to fly out, in his old jeans and an orange sweatshirt. I think he's awesome and I wish him the best of the best at Hendricks!!!

24Fan is correct. With 7 cylinders, Earnhardt Light did not have to let up as much in the corners and could stay on the gas much longer through the corners without the threat of spinning out or running up the track. It's the old adage of sometimes the fastest car is not always the quickest car around the track. He's still overrated.
