Hi, Windows Vista is way better than Windows Xp. Vista has a lot of Unix security features such as user account control. Vista is probably a lot more stable and is the most secure version of Windows ever released. Its also has good aero effects and since its the latest version u will probably have to get it anyway. Also Windows Vista has DirectX 10 and most new games r going to be for Vista and will only run on DirectX 10. New software will also only support or work best with Windows Vista by default. I hope I helped.
Good Luck!

Vista is the best, Its far more stable than XP, it looks better, faster, easier to use, the list goes on.

I have currently sold over 300PC's this year with Vista installed, and only around 30 with XP. Within a few months 17 of the people who brought a XP machine got it upgraded to Vista. I haven't had any complaints yet.

XP

Vista is a lot of fluff, not substantiality. It's "cuter". Many geeks and wizards refused to migrate as long as possible, having investigated, tested, and laughed and yawned. Microsoft so much as admitted this, when they extended the sales date for XP by six months.

However, PCs of the future will be installed with Vista. XP is doomed to the dustbin and will be "deprecated". We are "stuck with" Vista. Might as well get used to it.

Vista is better. However, it still does have compatibility issues. Which are no longer an issue for me. However your brother might.. So stick with XP if thats an option.
