Get that collar off her IMMEDIATELY, then get the cat to a vets. Flea collars are often extremely dangerous - and they do not kills fleas by the way!!

Get the cat to a vets, she's in respiratory distress and could be in real danger. If she's OK, then get a proper flea treatment from a vets, like Frontline. Please don't waste any money on store-bought products, none work because stores aren't licensed to sell the appropriate and SAFE products!

Hi. Flea collars work for some cats, and they don't for others. I have had cats that don't even think about them and cats that have gone absolutely dangerously wild with them on. White powder is common for the collars. That wears away with time. Cat smells like flea collar; same deal. Real bad! Bald spots are most likely from abbrason and not from alergic reaction. I will sadly add the I have seen four or five cats in my time hang themselves on collars while outside playing. Or the collar gets stuck between its teeth and panic and can get injured. I would recommend: Flea Powder! Presto! Sprinlke that stuff whereever she sleeps and rub it in so it doesn't look unsightly. And rub it all over her for the first couple of days. Then from there the application on the furniture, outside cushions, etc will be ok. And I will tell you you will read all sorts of horrifying things on the box or tube of powder. Just make sure you let them breath while you apply it and gently rub it down into the scalp of the fur. Best wishes!

Flea collars do not work and they are dangerous for cats to use. Take off the collar and take her to the vet immediately.

All flea products that you can buy in the store are too strong for cats, actually any animal, even if the product says it is safe. There are no regulations on those products and they can say whatever they want.

Your vet can prescribe a proper flea treatment that is safe and effective. Do not hesitate to take your cat to the vet. This is serious.

Flea collars are now getting out dated. You can purchase a better body protection with little to no risk to your cat. You can place the collar in your vacuum bag, since you will probably be cleaning them up.

Frontline, Advantage, and my favorite is Revolution for cats. If her breathing doesn't return to normal you will want a vet visit. I'm not sure it the collar was too tight, or if it had pyrithins in it, which are toxic to kitty's. Get a damp cloth and wipe any residue from around her neck.

Sorry : (

Get rid of the collar now. They are toxic for some animals and don't work well for fleas either. Use Frontline Plus or Advantage to treat your kitty. If your kitty does not improve immediately after removing the collar, get to a vet.

Please take the flea collar off immediately. My indoor cat got out and got fleas too. I took her to the vet and she administered the one (can't think of the name) that repels fleas behind her neck. It took care of the problem.Flea collars are poisonous to some animals. Don't use store-bought flea baths or anything else not prescribed by a vet. Good luck.

I would not suggest any flea collars for any animals the best thing for them is to put them in your vaccuum bag and that will help when you suck up some fleas that are still alive, go to the vet and get the cat on advantage.

Yes, TAKE IT OFF. Over the counter flea collars contain toxic chemicals. There is no regulation on these products. Take your cat to the vet and get the proper flea medication.

Take the collar off NOW.

If you read the packaging most of them tell you very clearly not to handle the collar with your bare hands because it is TOXIC. This is what you're supposed to put around your animals neck?

Please PLEASE take your cat to the vet. She could have serious health complications from wearing this collar.
