I'm a guy, but this being an open forum, I think I should weigh in. Personally, I think your question, though well-intended, is loaded. There is a middle ground there. I personally feel that guys (and I'm not accusing you of this directly) who complain that women prefer mean men, need to just man-up about the whole thing. We shouldn't give women that much power over us. I know of great girls who have passed me up for guys who are mean. I'd just rather find someone who wanted to be with me for the right reasons rather than because she's settling. Oh well. Some women prefer the Shannon from Mallrats type and others the tortured Ethan Hawke in Reality Bytes. It's all up to the person. One thing women don't like, I can tell, at least healthy-minded women, are wusses.

LOL.....an age old question. I'd fall for the quiet artsy fartsy guy who stimulated my mind as well as my body. The football player might be fun if he's something more than stats and beer cans, but how do you tell unless you date them and get to know them. Tell the quiet sensitive guy, he's got to get the girl's attention first. He can't expect anyone to just go for him by being quiet. Hard I know if you're shy. Get out there and get involved enough for others to see the hidden treasure that is you.

Neither of the two. They are both extreme and normally turn offs. I would rather like an ordinary guy who can be quiet but not necessarily shy and socially awkward, who can be artsy fartsy but not put me in a pedestal (hey, I am human too!), who can have a blackbelt in karate but not a bully, and who would not miss a date for the sake of football.

Hmm I am a sucker for the shy "artsy fartsy" guys. The big meathead frat type guys are a huge turn off.

Although I would have to fight the urge of dominating him, I would choose artsy fartsy over the big meathead screaming over a football game.

Personally, I don't think that a woman wants someone who is more sensative than she is, nor does a woman want someone who is so totally out of touch with reality that all they can do is quote sports facts.
I chose guy #3. he is a combination of both, somewhat. He does write poetry at times, but he also enjoys watching the games sometimes. He is not so wrapped up in either world that he cannot go outside and enjoy time with his family.

Personally big macho frat guy doesn't appeal to me, not that we have `frats` here in the uk. Personally i would love a guy who had enough thought to want to write me poetry, who would take the time to appreciate the inner me as well as me on the outside.

ICK! Neither...
First guy sounds like a wimpy Momma's-boy who would quit dating you if you gained 5 pounds (I had a BF like that once..what an ****** he was..and yes, he was the first guy to ever want to read poetry with me)....he was a self-centered bass-turd...
Number two just sounds immature...can't stand guys who are immature and so in to sports they forget other people exist...
My husband is a perfect blend of sensitive, loving, beer drinking redneck that I love!
LOL

Yeah, like the previous person said- that all depends on the girl.
See personall, I don't like jocks. Not my type, but I also don't like little nerdy guys who write love stories. lol
For me, I like a guy in between. Why couldn't he be both ways? Sports are a guys 'thing' or at least for most of them. But I know for me, I like when my boyfriend is romantic && makes sweet notes for me.
So there really isn't an exact one, it's both for me. I like a little mixture =)
