most people have no sense of will power or self control even when it comes to things that they "know" are healthy or beneficial for them in the short and/or long term. our society breeds weak minded people this is why there are so few good leaders and so many that follow blindly.

Being a person who has struggled with the food issue all my life, I can give you a great answer. Whenever you see someone who can't stop eating a lot, not the fact that they can't eat certain healthy foods, b/c maybe they have went shopping and threw all of the garbage out and bought all nutricious food, but they are eating too much of the nutricious food too, well the answer is this: Have you ever seen an alchololic just stop drinking so much, have you ever seen a drug addict just stop doing drugs, cold turkey.
Sadly, many people are addicted to food and have a strong "habit" to eat continuously. Yes, some are able to stop eating so much by going cold turkey, there are a few, but the majority, sadly, takes longer to do so. They have to start something similar to a twelve step plan, that targets a mental problems first. Is the person lonely, bored, angry, sad--- depressed? These feelings can lead a person to do drugs, drink or OVEREAT. The answer for people who overeat is Overcoming Mind-Hunger in order to live diet free by changing one's relationship with food, improving body image through movement, and realizing how emotions influence the decision to eat. Relying on internal cues of hunger and fullness will undermine the tension created by fear of eating bad foods. Identifying emotions underlying the desire to eat when not hungry diminishes the feelings of deprivation, guilt and failure which go hand in hand with dieting. Long term goals which focus on small positive changes have been shown to be the most effective in making life style changes. Latest diet trends and fads are quick fixes, although tempting, but do not do the work to provide a long term affect.

Because people think some stupid gimmick like eating grapefruit only or drinking lots and lots and lots of a certain tea will help them.

A lifestyle change where people eat less while eating healthier foods is too much trouble for them. There's a billion dollar diet industry out there that is completely unnecessary. Free and Proven methods exist!!!!!!

Same reason why some people cant go on the stop drinking so much of stop gambling so much program. Not everyone is fat due to will power. With that said, some people just like food and it is cheaper to eat unhealthy and tastes better. But not veryone is like that.

Hey buddy, it doesn't always work that way. When a person goes on a diet, they have to make sure they get the essentials that make their body function properly.

You have to go by the 6 food groups, cut back on calorie and fat intake and drink water.

Yes, I know there are a lot of people who complain that they are fat, but they have to put forth the effort to loose the weight. People like you are the very reason it is sometimes hard for people to loose weight. When overweight people need encouragement, they have people like you to cut them down.

I myself have a up and down type of weight issue. It is not that I eat like a pig, I have actually been eating correctly and cutting back on my calorie and fat intake, but still yet, my weight bounces constantly. I excersise every single day.

Yes, cutting back may help, but you must incorperate healthy foods, positive attitudes and lifestyle changes.

Most people who are overweight eat for emotional reasons. They eat when they feel down, eat when they feel good and feel like celebrating, eat when they worry, eat when worry is past, etc. I say this from experience. With that added component to the whole eating/ nutrition/ calorie scenario, things get complicated. Then it's not just common sense eat when you're hungry. It's being expected to stop using one of your major comfort vehicles in life. THAT'S hard. Self control, will power, self-denial are hard for most people. For those who depend on food for emotional solace, it's next to impossible.

I decrease meat out progressively - neglected rooster for 1st year yet do no longer omit it in any respect now (2 an prolonged time on). I easily tend to evade 'pretend' meat - it relatively is functional while eating family contributors nutrients concerning meat yet often I shifted the form of nutrients I ate eg eating greater vegetable curries, thai nutrients and pasta and so on the place the beef wasn't serious to eating it. in fact I moved on from the beef-and-2-veg form of eating to a greater present day way of eating and different cuisines. you're able to look into seitan and ridicule duck, once you're interior the united kingdom Holland and Barratt inventory this in cans it relatively is functional for stir fries. additionally TVP it relatively is bought dried yet i do no longer extraordinarily advise it. Quorn is tastier - discover it in freezer part of massive supermarkets. additionally attempt halloumi cheese which you grill and paneer, an indian chewy cheese you cook dinner with. i take advantage of eggs as a good resource of protein too.

They have no self control...simple as that. No self control and no motivation, a donut or Big Mac is more important than a healthy cardiovascular system.

Oh and I don't buy that whole "I'm a food addict" bit. It's just an excuse. I enjoy food as much as the next person, but I know when enough is enough.

Some people are additicted to eating. Seriously! Eating triggers good feelings in your brain, and its hard to let that go. More and more we are seeing people with addictions to food. A lot of physicians are comparing it to alcoholism and drug addiction.

It takes love, support, and health care, all of which can be hard to come by these days.
