No, it bothers me when kids are brainwashed with untrue religions, as I was. I was smart enough to see errors in the Bible at age 7 and soon became an atheist, but my siblings were not as smart as I am, so they still waste much time and money on nonsense. My oldest sister is in church 3 times a week and watches Joyce Meyer and other preachers on TV. She gives her church $50 a month. I sent a letter to a paper about that. I said that she could buy a $26,100 Paiget "Polo" wristwatch like mine, if instead of giving her money to a church, she saved it for 43.5 years. Maybe her preacher has such a watch though.

Ha! The most normal children I have known were raised by Atheists, Satanists and any Pagan branch. Some were raised by Spiritualists. But, I never, and I repeat, Never saw a normal child that was raised by Xians.I grew up in it and I am one of those kids that was warped with god and church. The most concentrated evil in the world is the brainwashing used on children by Xians.

All people who attain a minimal level of intelligence and self-awareness will seek for meaning in their lives. No matter how people are raised, they will question it and decide for themselves what they believe. Raising a child within a certain system is not brainwashing them--as a matter of fact, the more strictly you insist something is the ONLY truth, the more likely they are to rebel against it when they are living on their own.

It bothers me when children are raised to 'be' anything (in a religious sense; obviously children should be raised to be kind, caring etc.) Parents should no more try to force their beliefs on their own children than they would with fellow adults. Children should be alowed to come to their own decisions about what they believe.

It doesn't particularly bother me, but I don't think kids should be raised any "ist" or "ism" at all.
Children need to be taught basic values of respect and discipline and when they're older, they should be given the liberty to decide what they believe in.

I think children should be exposed to a variety of options to choose from. As a Christian I will teach my children what I believe first as I am sure most others would do as well. But I will encourage them to ask questions to test their fatih and to seek answers for themselves. I will let them knowof the different religions and allow them to explore them for themselves. I can lead them to God but I cannot make them choose to stay with him if they truly do not find a desire to follow him. The only thing that would truly upset me would be to see them get involved in something evil like animal sacrifices to some demon or another or worse..human sacrifice. Note I am not calling that satanism.

It would only bother me if the atheist parents taught their children that "God" was evil and that Christians are stupid and brainwashed.......
they would be no better that the "Jesus Camp" families
otherwise if they are truly and genuinely loving then the child will be also, hey, CS Lewis was an atheist

No. Whichever belief system kids are raised...could have benefits and detriments depending on how and in what fashion they are taught.
