find a notebook and a pen. Inside start to write down ALL the things that you are thinking about/hopeing for the baby's future. It's a good time to start a journal that you can someday give to him/her on their 18th or 21st birthday. Jot down small day to day things that you think you will remember, but in ten years you probably won't remember half of what you wanted to. I always thought this was a stupid idea until I started it.....it's amazing the stuff that happens that you really don't remember. Once your baby is an adult, it is such a great feeling for him to get something. It will mean so much to them!

Oooh, due in 10 days, but you could go over too! Sorry to be the bringer of doom, but my little monster made me wait 10 more days... which passed even more slowly than the 10 days to my due date!

Anyway, if I had that time again, I would cook some meals that could be frozen to bung in the freezer, organise a couple of internet grocery shops to make sure you don't run out of the basics. Sort out any birthday cards presents coming up the next few weeks, hey, I've even seen Christmas cards in the shops, you could write those and plan your presents!

Get your hair trimmed and maybe treat yourself to a facial, I did this on my due date as I knew I'd be late and decided to treat myself and take my mind off everyone asking if baby was here yet!

Do rest as much as you can, and enjoy a big pile of mags, or a book. Do what you enjoy... and good luck!

Go to the library - get a couple of books by your favorite author and enjoy, or go see a movie, rent a fave DVD and take a look at the last peaceful days you will have. Call a friend and talk without interruption. You will miss quiet more than anything over the next few years as the baby will need every bit of your time and attention. Take some time to enjoy this last ditch at being you and not Mommy.

Make some Halloween treats, toffee for bonfire night ... Christmas cakes and Christmas puddings.

Try some time consuming craft i.e. making/painting chess pieces, cross stitch.

Read books. Play online games (yahoo's are good). If you're in UK, join www.ciao.co.uk and write product reviews (for money, not a terrific amount, but money nonetheless).

I feel for you! I've been off work with a high pulse for three weeks and am currently driving myself mad. Although the above aren't activities that would typically interest me (with the exception of reading), they help.

Fortunately my baby is due 23rd Dec, so I imagine I won't have time to be bored the week before.

Good luck.

Pick a couple of movies that you want to watch and rent them or even better if you are comfortable enough go to a movie (It will probably be your last for a while).
Buy some magazines or crossword puzzle books.
Go get a manicure and pedicure.
Go to lunch or dinner with friends that you may not have as much time for once baby arrives.
Sleep!!!
Good luck.
This is just all the stuff that I wish I had time for now......

Get ready for Christmas, buy the presents that you wont have time to buy later. Wrap and label them. Make out your Christmas card list and your Christmas list so that people know what to buy you. I know I am crazy but I like to do things ahead of time. We are coming to see family this weekend and I will give them all their presents so that I wont have to post them and I don't have a restriction on what i can buy for them. Mother in law has got china .... not easy to post!

I would do all the jobs (within reason) that you have been putting off until now. Organising paper work, filing.....

The time will soon fly by. Take care

I know it is boring but when people tell you to make the most of rest and relaxation thats what you should do.
Before i had mine i just did not relax at all and as soon as my boy was born i really wish i had because you just cannot find a minute in the day to yourself when you have a baby.
Its easy for a midwife to say sleep when baby sleeps but how many mums really do? congratulations!!!

get cooking!

make up various meals so that all you need to do is to take them out of the freezer and heat them up in the microwave

listen to your entire record/CD collection

have a list of contacts to inform once you are in labour and once the baby turns up so that everyone who needs to know will be informed (and that includes working out who is going to tell who)

any novels you have bought against a 'rainy day'? now is the time to read them

on-line arcade games - yahoo does a whole host that give you an hours worth of play at a time - some of them are rather good! - how many can you get through in a day??

don't neglect gentle exercise either - quarter of an hours walk can do you the power of good a coupla times a day
