Our cats use a little barbie tent,
It only means the cat thinks the stuffed animal is baby.

It's perfectly safe for a kitten to bond with a stuffed animal. It's like a favorite toy to them.

Well,I raised a little boy kitten from an early age, also.I put some water on a towel and heated it in the microwave, rolled it up and put a ticking alarm clock behind it(to represent the mother's heartbeat)and fed it with a tiny baby bottle. When it got up a little older ,gave it a stuffed animal to sleep with and it would try to mate with the stuffed animal.Grossed me out!!!

That is perfectly fine. The kitten is looking for his/her siblings which he used to cuddle and now the dog toy is a surrogate of sorts for the kitten. This is normal behavior especially for a kitten so young.

You should spend more time interacting with him. He's looking for companionship and you should be his companion. If you are gone alot, I suggest getting another kitten to keep him company. Get some toys for him-the ones with little bells in them really fire cats up and make them chase it all day. Catnip will drive him wild.

I had a male cat that started getting intimate with a one of my kids stuffed toys (a tiger). He went the vet to have his manhood altered shortly after that.
