I had a THS test done and the nurse who gave me the results by phone said the normal results would be between 5. 0 and 9.0 and my results were 4.93. I have to go make more blood tests now, but
What are my chances of having a thyroid disease?
What does this mean?
*any information will be appreciated

The new guidelines narrow the range for acceptable thyroid function, and the AACE( American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) is now encouraging doctors to consider thyroid treatment for patients who test the target TSH level of 0.3 to 3.04, a far narrower range. AACE believes the new range will result in proper diagnosis for millions of Americans who suffer from a mild thyroid disorder, but have gone untreated until now

The new TSH range from the AACE guidelines gives physicians the information they need to diagnose mild thyroid disease before it can lead to more serious effects on a patient's health - such as elevated cholesterol, heart disease, osteoporosis, infertility, and depression

Therefore, your TSH result was well within normal level.. So you don't need to worry. However, if you have symptoms of Hypothyroidism, it would be a good idea to be seen by an endocrinologist and TSH level should be tested along with free floating T4.

My doctor referred me to an endochronologist who found an enlarged, over-active thyroid. He put me on medication and that brought the thyroid levels to normal but the goiter continued to enlarge to seven times it's normal size. I was experiencing trouble swallowing, breathing, and sleeping. Two months ago a surgeon removed the left lobe and I'm feeling much better. In six months he will do an ultrasound and make a decision regarding the small right lobe. I am not on any medication at this time. Find a good endochronologist and take his advice.
