Boil it. Add in a little vinegar to the water if you want to be safe.
I have two kids and more lost sippies than I'd care to admit. Tossing is definitely wasteful.

That's happened to me about a hundred times. I do have a dishwasher, but even before I put it in there I fill the cup with hot water from the tap - hot as I can get it without actually boiling it - and a splash of dishwashing soap. Put the top on, shake it up, and leave it there until tomorrow. Then dump that soapy water out and wash it as usual. It's worked for me in the past. I think it's the leaving it for like 24 hours that helps. I hope it works!

Fill the sippy cup up with water. Then add a dab of bleach. Just enough so that you can slightly smell it. Let it sit for a few hours. Afterwards, wash the cup out with dishwashing liquid. The cup will be odor-free and sanitized.

Why go through all the trouble trying to get the smell out. It's better if you just toss it and buy yourself a new one. Doesn't have to be an expensive one just one that works. I'm sure you can get one for like .97 cents somewhere. I have never kept a sippy cup with the smell in it. Being I have 4 of my own. Believe me.. it's not worth going through all the trouble to get rid of the smell. Get a new one. It's better.

Wash it with a weak bleach solution, similar to the type that you would use to clean the baby's toys every so often. The bleach will actually kill the residual mold in the plastic.
I used to mix a 1/4-1/2 cup of bleach in an empty spray bottle and the rest with water.

Lemon juice is really good for getting bad smells out. Thats what I use in my microwave if it has a smell of food cooked in it that seems to never go away. I suppose you could just pour some in there and let it set for a bit. If that doesnt work just toss it. It might be cheaper to toss it and get a new one anyway....

Baking soda, try putting a fresh lemon slice in it with hot water, vanilla extract will also do the trick. The smell is trapped in very small pores that you can not even see so you may need to use something abrasive to get it out. Unless it is a special cup just buy a new one!

Try scrubbing the inside of the cup with a rag dipped in some water and baking soda. Leave the baking soda stuck all over the inside of the cup overnight and then wash it again.

I think you should just toss it if there is still a smell. Smells are caused by bacteria. its most likely that there is something on the cup that is allowing/ helping the bacteria to grow. Even the plastic its self can harbour bacteria , in any scratch, or hard to clean crevis, it would probably be safer not to have your child drink from it anymore & just toss it.

Just use some bleach, first put it in neat and cover all the inside of the cup and allow to stand for a while, then add washing up liguid and give it a scrub and I am sure it will be odourless!
