only insulin can drastically reduce serum cortisol levels, increasing testosterone levels will decrease serum cortisol as well. vitamins and minerals have no direct effect on increasing or decreasing hormones only other hormones have that effect.

Hi there,
Yoga can be a great friend in every diet. It's all about hormones balance. There are no "bad" hormones. But when hormones get unbalanced, bad things happen in your body. Your body releases cortisol when you're under stress. It's part of the whole “fight or flight” response. Increased cortisol levels could be making you fat. The kind of fat you are most likely to store from elevated cortisol is called visceral fat — the dangerous belly fat that’s linked to diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.
I'm following this great online program that teaches how to use YOGA to lose weight. You should check it out as well. This is the link of the site: http://yogafitness.toptips.org

Cortisol is a stress hormone; therefore, anything you can do to reduce stress will lower cortisol levels in your body. Natural methods include meditation, yoga, and consuming natural herbs, such as cannabis. Other herbs that might help include damiana, hops, and valerian.
Many OTC supplements now promote weight loss by lowering cortisol levels in the body. Like most supplements on the market, these products are largely ineffective and represent a waste of the consumer's time and money. There are much more effective methods to lose weight.
Look, Weight loss is really quite simple; there are only two things you need do to reach your goals:
1. Restrict daily calories to 1600 calories per day. By increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat, you will be able to keep your intake at this level without feeling hungry or uncomfortable.
2. Exercise for one hour a day, every single day. It can be anything from pilates to just plain walking, but do it. One hour. Every day.
This is a pretty simple recipe for weight loss, but it works. It has worked for me; I have lost 62 pounds this way. It will work for you if you commit to it and stick to it.
Good luck!

No, elevated cortisol levels are only really produced by adrenal or pituitary tumours. These need surgical intervention.
