Cat scratches on car?

Am about to buy new car but need to keep my cat off bonnet. The car I have now has scratches as I park under a carport-no garage. Need an idea!!! Anyone???

I think about the only sure way would be to get a car cover you just toss over the hood to protect it.

You can get some spray from your local vet that will keep cats away from gardens and your car. Apparently, they hate the smell of it and won't go near it although it has no smell to us and it doesn't harm cats in any way.
