You do not need to find to God here and there, for God you do not need to go to Church, Mosque, or Temple...but yes inside your heart he is very near to you....He is with you he never leave you alone...but yes he gives you choices of good and bad.....even if u do bad he is there for u next time, if u ask his forgiveness he is ready to do that....this all believes come from your heart...there is some Almighty power....who is very important and watching u grow from womb till grave....sometime you ask something from Him, you pray , you beg but you did not get it does not mean he can not have power to give or he does not want to give but yes yes he knows that might not a right time for you to have that thing or may be at that time he is just wanted you to learn patience or he stored that pray for next life.
I don't know its my belief about God and I am satisfied, my many prayers does not fulfill right at that time but sooner or later i will get the reason. Sometime what is written in the book we can not understand because we do not go in back ground details. but believe in God is something from Ur's heart not mind. and when u believe from heart mind also support it for sure.

John Prine recorded a song called "Spnish Pipedream."
It is one of my favourites.
Here are the lyrics.
--------
"Spanish Pipedream"
She was a level-headed dancer on the road to alcohol
And I was just a soldier on my way to Montreal
Well she pressed her chest against me
About the time the juke box broke
Yeah, she gave me a peck on the back of the neck
And these are the words she spoke
Chorus:
Blow up your t.v. throw away your paper
Go to the country, build you a home
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches
Try an find jesus on your own
Well, I sat there at the table and I acted real naive
For I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve
Well, she danced around the bar room and she did the hoochy-coo
Yeah she sang her song all night long, tellin’ me what to do
Repeat chorus:
Well, I was young and hungry and about to leave that place
When just as I was leavin’, well she looked me in the face
I said you must know the answer.
She said, no but I’ll give it a try.
And to this very day we’ve been livin’ our way
And here is the reason why
We blew up our t.v. threw away our paper
Went to the country, built us a home
Had a lot of children, fed ’em on peaches
They all found jesus on their own
-------
I hope the song makes some sense to you.
By the way, I am definitely an atheist, but I figure that if believing there is something more gives you a sense of peace, and is not harming me, well then so what. Go right ahead believing what brings you comfort.

I think the stories and writings in the Bible are just other people's "best guesses" as to what God is like, and they were all written within the context of a much less educated society. There is beauty and truth in the Bible, but I don't think it should be your "owner's manual for life" as some do.
I also think that people should not be surprised when they encounter mean, petty, and sinful people in church. Oftentimes it is those who most realize their wretchedness who feel a need to attend church and try to be better--some accomplish this goal, but some don't.
Not all denominations are the same--if you don't believe in the literal truth of the Bible and want to be surrounded by people who are trying to be loving just because it is right, not because it is "decreed", maybe you should try a unitarian or universalist church.

Why worry about what other people are doing? The question is what are you doing to follow GOd?
God doesn't judge us as a congregation, he judges us individually.
I dont understand why people think when they go to Church they are suppose to see perfect people. GOd said come just as you are. ANd when you read the bible and apply it to your life, then you can begin to see changes.
But you shouldn't judge, because you don't know what part of peoples lives have changed.
And the sin you might see, could be something God is trying to work on in their lives. THey could be in the middle of Change. We were born a sinner. Understand that. NO one is perfect, we strive to be like Christ. People have to GO through changes.
DID you know that Satan GOES to CHurch TOO
REad GOd's WOrd, and Apply it to your LIFE!!!!!!!!!

Don't listen to anyone else but yourself. In your own mind you find the answers you seek.I used to go to many different denominations as well,to try and see why they all differed but all believed they were right. The simple answer is none of them know, they just think they do.When you question the world around you and ignore everything else, the most logical conclusion will come to you.....there isn't a god or gods, just concepts people invent to make themselves feel better about something they dont understand.

You cannot base serving the Lord on what others are doing. You will find sin in almost every church. Salvation is a personal thing. Its not a I will serve the Lord if everyone else is serving him. You will not find a perfect church in this world. You will find some that are closer than others.

The Bible warns us that some will still deny God’s existence, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Psalm 14:1). Since over 98% of people throughout history, in all cultures, in all civilizations, on all continents believe in the existence of God they cannot be wrong. Look on to Jesus Christ that you may experience God in your life and not church building or humans. As an Adventist (Seventh - day Adventist) and I believe in God and will continue to do so till Christ comes.
Whatever your judgment is believe in God and look up to him to set you free. I wish to invite you to any of the Seventh-day Adventist closed to you for further studies on existence of God and his wondrous work. Even the nature can prove that there is God. So why not you?

That's why I do not attend church, I'm perfectly OK with my studies at home, I'm not going to follow any man made religion with a lot of strings attached. Jesus said believe in me and you will be saved and that's all you got to do, where did he say I have to be of this religion or that religion? He didn't, I wouldn't stop serving him because of a few you will always have that but serve him, keep praying!

you said you saw contradictions && foolishness of the Bible, there is no where in the bible where it contradicts itself.
you must look to God fgor your example, for every man sins, no man is perfect. your telling me your perfect? no
in the bible it says every sin is weighed the same.. murder or stealing a piece of candy. lying or abuse... its all the same. so you cant tell me you have not lied? ever cheated on a test? gossiped? thought something bad, discriminating? judgemental? he who is without sin may cast the first stone,
therefore read and pray and only look to GOD.

because you want to believe the bible so much that it does not matter weather it is true or faults . For some reason people don't care about the facts allowing them self's to be deceived by their own belief or disbelief.
