Edit: Thanks for the answers. I just wanna add that I'm not dependent on coffee, well that would be because I'm new to drinking it. But I drink it regularly now because I like it. I don't wanna be dependent on it, though. Second thing is, someone mentioned 'fattening' coffe and a diet one. Can you please tell me which ones are the diet ones?

I worked for an herbalist/nutritionalist for some time, and I also took part in a successful weight loss campaign using his advice. Coffee CAN impact your weight loss efforts, and while it's okay in moderation, you should know the facts.

is coffee bad for the health? the real question is is it good for the health. when it comes to health if it doesn't help the health status then it is a hindrance.

it seems like the majority of people that drink coffee regularly are addicted to the caffeine and can't function with out it. that is obviously has a negative effect if a person becomes dependent on a stimulant just to function normally.

whether coffee is bad depends on how much your body is able to deal with it. say you have a weak kidney or u are pregnant, doctor would advice u to drink less coffee.

some coffee is fattening, as most coffee beans are roasted together with butter or other fats. low-fat coffee usually means that the creamer used is low fat, the fat in the coffee is still the same.

if u like coffee and do not want to gain weight because of it, there are "slimming" coffee. i am refering to those that the coffee beans are roasted without any butter or other oils

nope. actually coffee should be one of the preferred caffeine sources, rather than those over stuffed energy drinks, plus it has antioxidants. but as with anything too much is more than enough. coffee won't make you fat but adding too much sugar or other fillers will. rule with coffee is the blacker the better.
